A funny thing about that lineup...rkolter wrote:Series 2 is done!

*lineup*
8 people are guaranteed to pass.
8 people are guaranteed not to.
And 16 people yet to be decided.
Out of the 16, BlackSparrow duels GrabMyGoblin, Cookie duels Jops, Rickford duels Stinky. Out of these 6, three will pass and three will fail.
But the remaining 10... have no constraints on wins/loses.
Eg. they could all win their fights:
If Aiken beat Mort, Nanda beat Sashjiva, RA beat Saenie, Serge beat Remus, Tim beat Linkara, Tynan beat Bean, Killbert beat Aeridius, Kisai beat JimNorth, Lego beat FadingAura and TheNeko beat PAL... you'd have 21 people in the 2nd round.
Considering the strenght/weakness pattern, I think it's quite likely only about 4 of 10 will pass, and you'll have 15 people in next round.
I thought I'd mention that before you run into a dead end...
You could add a clause that people with [n] wins (in the round), should only fight other people with [n] wins. And re-roll the table.
Then you'd be guaranteed the powers of two thing.

Oh come on. The math there boils down to "8+3+10=21; 8+3+4=15" what's there to die from?

I thought so!
Hmm, you know, I thought something like that might happen. When Kolter said it was guaranteed that only 16 would make it and 16 wouldn't, something felt off. Of course, it's Kolter! I took his word for it . . . for the most part. I started to do the math myself, but gave up after getting out of the shower.

Er?
The line-up for this round may need to be rescheduled. I just flipped a coin for each battle, and according to my spreadsheet, these random wins and losses have made seventeen players disqualified and only fifteen able to continue.
I'll send a copy to Kolter and get his opinion. Maybe I did something wrong.

Ah-HA!
Ok. So any battle that's between two 1/1s or between a 2/0 and a 0/2 can stand, but any others have to be rescheduled?

The updated series, which is guaranteed for sure this time, to give us sixteen combattants. I had to make a few changes, and so I randomized the ones I had to change. Some were left the same. Please be advised this is the new Series 3 - Round 1 set of battles. Cookie and Jops are grandfathered because their battle already happened.
