No se.

Aye, por que? Mi mama nunca hizo nada a usted!

Edit: Oh yeah, I'm in my third year of Spanish, but the way they teach it I keep forgetting things while learning the new things. I think my sentence structure is pretty bad, though I'm getting better with vocab and accents. I chose si on accident, I really should have gone with un poco.

I took three years of Spanish in high school. Well, technically I only took two years because I got an F in Spanish 1 the first time I took it, and had to repeat it. The teacher was a dick, and to date is the only class I've ever failed. But I did get straight A's in Spanish since!

They never taught us Spanish. But they insisted on Latin, for some reason...

... so where's Jex Kerome in this conversation? :)

I probably could survive, barely, in a spanish speaking country on the spanish I remember from high school.

I never learned spanish, actually. I got by wth handsigns and morse code until I learned english. All the spanish I know I learned from "Los dias y las noches de Monse

Forgive my ignorance, but I thought Mexico's official language was Spanish?

Did you know, the US has no official language; Yes, english is the language of choice and the one taught in schools, but there is no federal law or mandate that makes it our official standard.

This would be because, traditionally, we have never, ever, gotten' on with Spain; even less than Germany, which is saying something. The Latin? Uhm. No idea!

I've been to Spain a few times but mostly on the way to Portugal. I likes Portugal. Which means I know more Portugese than Spanish, and considering I know no Portugese makes for a rather limited palette in the Spanish department. Yes'm.

Wouldn't it be the French we get on with least? We did spend most of 1000 years fighting them in one way or another.

True, but through all that fighting we kinda' got mixed up a lot, I mean we were conquered by the Normans and all and had bits of Normandy, and, well, yeah, we're all chummy and mixed up.

But Spain, now that's different, that's navys; and oh how we liked our navys. *hums 'in the navy'*
