It's not about video games!!!

If you were given the ability to have your strip turned into a movie with a no-limit budget who would direct and star in it?

I did a joke about this idea in my comic strip already:

But Seriously, if I did have a movie, first it'd be animated by Ralph Bakshi (He's come out of retirement) and all the voices would be someone like Brendan Small as Burt, Danny Cooksey as Henchman and Henchwoman, Ludwig would be voiced by Ertha Kitt (with the helium effect a la Emperor's New Groove when she turned into a cat) and Carlos would be Johnny Depp.

M. Night Shamalyn(sp) to direct.

The librarian ghost from Ghostbusters as ABOL.

The Pixar people would animate and direct. For voices, I'd obtain the people who do the voices for 'Arthur' with the exception of Lord High Chief Wizard. He would be voiced by either Christopher Lee or James Colburn.

This discussion comes up every once in a while with my comic...and my only decision that's always constant is that Christina Ricci has to be Jenny. It must be.

The rest...a bunch of unknowns that I'll discover at coffee shops or in local theatre or something.
It would be an indie, art-house kind of movie.

Director- I dunno, perhaps James Cameron.
Actors- unknowns, with matching looks and personalities. But I'd like to have BruceWillis and JohnyDepp, as support characters.

While I'm still getting the art down the script for The Con Job is very Coen Brothers, I wouldn't mind seeing them direct/rescript. I wouldn't mind seeing Edward Norton as Mason, though if he were younger, Coen standby George Clooney would be perfect! Jess would be best played by Maura Tierney. After that it's mostly younger breed.

I would be perfectly happy to turn the entire project over to Mr. Seth Macfarlane.

I think my comic is simple/stupid enough to be done through flash. I think the most important part would not be the casting, but the soundtrack which I think I'd have filled up with Melt Banana, The Locust, The Liars, Cannibal Corpse, Single Frame and Tullycraft. (sorry indie music is more of my forte)

I have part of a soundtrack put together in my head, but um...I guess I'd have to say, as far as actors went, any English actor that had NOTHING to do with "24 Hour Party People". I hated that movie. Though Sean Harris was okay as Ian despite not looking like him.

edit: Single Frame, huh? "Wetheads Come Running" was extremely cool.

Director - Me. Ha ha ha, nah. I would've said Peter Jackson, but I don't know if comedy like this is up his alley. The fantasy would be, though.

Samara - Shirley Manson
Eve - Tara Reid
Ernest - I... don't know
Evil Boner - Could be anyone if done with CGI, but Willem Dafoe could make a good Evil Boner.

Role of the Die - The Movie would be animated by the fine folks at Dreamworks. The vast majority of the voices would be done by me and my friends, since I based most of the characters off of us, anyway.

Well...mine would be animated.

I'm thinking maybe Nick Park of Walace and Gromit fame could do a stop-action of Monkeys and Mutton cartoon. That'd definitely be cool.

Honestly though, I think my comic would be more suited to becoming a TV show than a movie. My storylines aren't exactly epic...but they could sustain a 7 minute short cartoon. In which case, Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Lab), Steve Hillenberg (Spongebob Squarepants) or John Kricfalusi (Ren and Stimpy) would all be good choices to put together the show...

There wouldn't be a director who would be able to get it right, so Jackie Chan would have to be director with myself as the main consultant and Al Leong would star, because he's the motherfucking man, and already a character in the comic

Who saw the "documentary" on Night Shamylan on SciFi channel the other day?
I still love his movies, and I'm dying to see the Village tommorow; but now I think he is a nut.

^ I liked Signs...

...I didn't like his first two, The 6th Sense or Unbreakable.

The Village does look pretty interesting though...I think I'll go see it.

I'd be curious to see what Tim Burton did with Mixed Myth, although I'm not sure it'd turn out like the comic. o_O

As for voices...well, the only one I can really think of is maybe Jeremy Irons for Aherne.

I'd have David Fincher direct, and a cast of mostly unknowns. And at least one legendary actor in a small role.
