When australians start posting.
But are you staying up too late, or too early? Because it's already late tomorrow over here...
Why no jump?
Woah, something happened to the front page.
On one hand I like the development- the front page loads in a reasonable time now.
On the other hand- I didn't mind ForumGames beeing placed in hosted communities (for reasons beyond my comprehension) but now it affects that forum's accessibility!

Yeah, I'm up for moving "games" to the main forums section. It seems that the only reason for it to be placed to communities section was that there are so little forums there.
But frankly, if Keenime is ment for fans of manga while others shouldn't have much interest in it, Games is still something that any forumer could (and probably, should) find interest in.

Does anyone even post in that keenime forum anymore, other than to comment on how dead it is...? I mean, given that nine-tenths of all comics submitted to Keenspace seem to be manga-styled, it's not exactly a distinguishing feature anymore*, and what would they talk about there that couldn't be discussed in another forum?
*(If it was ever anything of note. I can't remember a time when manga -wasn't- done to death.)
So, anyway...
*votes for just cramming everything under the banner of General Discussion, the way it was before; then nobody would have to worry*

I've put the jumpbox back. Initially I had removed it, then I found the code to simplify the front page, then I found the code to alter to make the jumpbox only do specific categories. So it's all back now.

Anyway, I asked the admins a few weeks ago about the fate of the Keenime forum, and they said it was to be spared. Why I'll never know (unless they tell me), so now we have to do something with it...
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

Discuss anime, I suppose... But then, doesn't it come up around General Discussion/Off Topic Junk a lot, anyway...?
Oh, and thank you, Kisai...!

Yes, thanks, Kisai!
On anime forum subject: Yes, anime discussion gets around GD a lot. Several times, thread would turn into a full anime discussion and it's ok, although I felt a bit lost, reading all that talk about films I've never heard about.
In fact, those discussions come in waves. Once you have one anime discussion, you'll instantly have several of them in other threads too. Just like with calls for artists or jubilees. I guess at one moment, a critical mass of anime fans forms and that's when anime just starts to get on subject.
Anyway, of course I don't think that every anime discussion should be moved to keenime forum, it would be unfair to think something like that. Just because I can't add to some discussion, doesn't mean it should be cut instantly. But I did have a feeling that those people want to discuss about anime, but don't have a chance very often, maybe they don't know so much people who are into same things they are, or maybe topics on their favourite stuff doesn't come often, but keenime seemed like a good place where this large sub-community could just start any anime-related diiscussion, without us laics interrupting.
Of course, waves of anime discussions would still come to GD too, but I feel that keenime is a natural habitat for them. Too bad it's dead.

People who live out in the country can get two kinds of internet: Dialup and satelight. We also get two kinds of TV: Static-and-antenna and Satelight.Jackhass wrote:People who still use dial-up should get the heck off the internet...I mean, we don't let horse and buggies on the highway anymore either.
No cable, no DSL, we're not "important" enough for it.
Satelight has a 600 dollar set-up fee.
So unless you want to limit the 'net to the few, the proud, the city-dwelling and the rich...dialup still has it's place.

Luckily, I think Jackhass was kidding. Without dial-up, you'd be deprived of that wonderfull comic "mcDuffies" as well as of presence of it's charming creator. Cable modems are still a rarity here.christwriter wrote:People who live out in the country can get two kinds of internet: Dialup and satelight. Like Heck you're banning dial-up! I did not go through all that trouble to make my site broadband-challenged friendly to have you people make it meaningless!!!
So dial-up stays.
Like the keenime forum.
Say, anyone else thinks that maybe the broadband-challenged deserve a spot in the special olympics nyo?
