HELP for Comic Genesis Signups
HELP!!!
Hey there...
I got my activation email last night and activated my signup, so now I'm waiting for my password. I realize it could take 7 days or more, as the email said that quite plainly.
However, I just checked the status of my username (it prompted me to do so on the 'check status' page, as I already activated my account), and it turned up as USERNAME NOT FOUND.
Is this normal? Or did my signup somehow get purged???

The week delay is there to so the admins can check your signup and see if it violates some of the rules, and reject it if it does..
The rules, for example-
it can't violate copyrights (ie. it can't be a stolen image, and there are problems with sprite comics using stolen sprites in their images)
it can't be a "text only image".
I'm not sure if pinup-kinda image is allowed, it may be, but it's better to go with a complete comic page.
No particular quality is expected, it's just there to check if you do intend to make comics.

You are the Non. You must go now, and never return."
"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

Um...a lil suggestion - next to "sample picture", you should say in brackets it will be your day one picture, not simply just a "sample". I attached a "sample" of what's to come, rather than my starting page.
If my comic (Green Dreams) is accepted (awaiting password right now), will I be able to delete this image in place of my actual starter page?

Yes you will. Once you have FTP access to your comic, simply delete the picture from your "public_html/comics" folder as well as the related page in "public_html/d".Sammy_h wrote:Um...a lil suggestion - next to "sample picture", you should say in brackets it will be your day one picture, not simply just a "sample". Thanks!Oualawouzou wrote:Once your website is created, it may take an additionnal day or two before you can log-in.
If you still can't log-in after that, try requesting a new password. For some reason, the password I got in my e-mail didn't work but everything was fine once I changed it to something else.

I have a problem.
I signed up for a Keenspace account on friday, 1/14. In an event of spectacularly bad timing, my email service was hacked that night. Email did not return for about four days. You can read about the Panix.com hijack by googling for 'panix email dns'.
I never recieved a confirmation email for my signup. I can't sign up again using the same email address. And worst of all, your 'check status' page says 'Signup Activated'. The hackers who hijacked Panix may have recieved my confirmation email and signed up hoping to use your FTP site for nefarious purposes.
Ideally you'd cancel the existing application so I could apply again using my (one and only) email address. But I'm open to any solution you might recommend.
The comic username I chose was 'remusshepherd' (I'm a little confused about whether this is supposed to be a user name or the webcomic title). My email account at remus@panix.com is working again, so feel free to contact me there.
Thanks in advance for your help.

just out of curiosity, if my comic gets declined will I recive a letter saying so? (rather then getting nothing)
I sent the application a few days ago and am slightly worried because I've been working on it as a 'chose your own adventure' story which leaves me little to say about the character and story (which will be developed as it goes)
so yeah... a little worried that you might not take it as a serious effort to make a comic when you see it and I want to know if I'll know that's I'm been regected if it comes to that =^^=*
thanks

Postal Codes
I typed in my Postal Code for canada (it has 6 digits) in the first box, but it says it still requires digits in the second box and another error says that the postal code was invalid.

Did this on Saturday after reading your message. It told me, 'Email sent'. I never received an email. Am I waiting on a human being for this, or is it supposed to be automated?Phalanx wrote:Remus: Try requesting a new password. It should send one back to your address, thus solving two problems.
I received the verification message for signing up for the forums. So I know email can reach me from keenspace.com. Just not, apparently, from the account signup process. :/

Forum emails are on a different server than the keenspace server, so no. If you used an aol, yahoo, hotmail or verizon email address, then they most likely filed it under spam or deleted it. AOL has been blocking email from keenspace for like every second month.RemusShepherd wrote:Did this on Saturday after reading your message. It told me, 'Email sent'. I never received an email.
