Ads not showing up

Post by KWill »

Starting today, whenever I access comicgenesis sites, most of the ads get blocked. Apparently the gorillanation-leaderboard.js is ringing a few alarm bells in the IE filter. Some of them make it through, though, but the vast majority end up blocked. I don't know whether I'm the only one experiencing this, but I'm pretty sure that if I'm not, it's not a good thing for Keenspot to have most of their ads blocked. Also, I'm using library computers, so I have no idea whether there was a change on my end of the line that's causing this.

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"

Passing it on to Chris Crosby, Spot has been making some changes in its ad systems this week or so.

Any other ad problems like this, or any inappropriate ads, please link them here so it can be passed on.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the javascript default set-up for our Valueclick Media ads. I've disabled Valueclick entirely until I find out for sure.

Let me know if any of you notice anything else unusual. You can E-Mail me directly at superosity@keenspot.com for the fastest response.

Thanks!

Now that you've disabled it, things seem to be back to normal.

Not sure if it's related, but I was just at Newscast on CG and had a strange pop-over advertising domains (large-ish image so I linked instead of showing).

However, a hard refresh did not repeat the ad, so it may have already been cleared...
