ComicGenesis - the new name?

For discussions, announcements, non-technical questions and anything else comics-related or otherwise that doesn't fit in any of the other categories.

ComicGenesis - the new name?

Post by That guy »

So - Phalanx has finally locked the thread officially ;) thank god... but for the record, are we now officially, officially ComicGenesis (or ComicGen?) It wasn't my choice numero uno, but I'm happier with that than toonspace, and I think it fits the broad spectrum of (ex)-keenspacers nicely. And hey, thanks to C.Crosby and Phalanx and everyone else for obliging our bitching and moaning and giving us some choices ;).

No it's not. Actually to avoid confusion you might want to rename the thread. Phalanx's thread was not the official deciding factor (I'm not sure if Chris endorsed it or not either.)

Chris Crosby will be the one to officially notify us what our name will be. (Hopefully).

I think we need to hear from Chris Crosby himself that this is the official name. Heck, did he even notice we were having that separate vote?

The only bone of contention would be that DC released a short series of comics named Genesis, or Genesis Comics, in 1997.

Oh yeah, that's right.

...Dang, I can't remember for the life of me what that was about. Shows just how important that story was.

I sent the list of names to CC. It's up to him to decide whether he wants to use them or he can't be bothered.

and the circle turns back on itself.

You know, as far as moderation of GD goes, I'm feeling pretty useless right now. You people are too fast. I can't keep up. :x

Comicgenesis still sounds like a gaming site to me.

we should have a vote between ComicGenesis and ComicGen.

Personally I like ComicGen better and it doesn't infringe on known pre-existing comics. plus Gen could could be short for genesis or general or generation or possibly Genitals. The door is wide open and almost anyone can walk in... I don't know where I was going with this... uh...

I remember caring... It was nice.

Awww fuck! Comic Genitals... why the hell didn't I think of that? I'm ashamed of myself, I deeply am. I'm slipping up in my old age.

Ok, I have had a reply from Chris Crosby. I am an idiot and should have included Webcomicspace in the poll, as CC is now under the impression WebcomicSpace is more popular than ComicGenesis since in the first poll, WebcomicSpace has 42 votes in the first poll and ComicGenesis has 40.

No, I don't understand how that works either.

But he said the final decision isn't his, and the Fab Four will discuss it.

That statement's more in general and not specifically directed at you, Smight.

EDIT: Sweet! Check out my rank! :D

Comic Nads would make for a much, much better name.
