Webcomic Convention Spycam!

Last weekend I presented my printed webcomic at a Small Press Convention here in the Netherlands. Thsi time I wanted to do something NEW, and my final idea was a SPYCAM for my booth! The idea was to help me remember more faces after a long day of meeting new people. At the same time, a surprise addition for my convention report and a window for international readers!

1. Got a portable webcam.

2. Constructed a character from my comic from clay.

3. hooked it up to the slideshow presentation at my booth.

Reinder, you're on the Binky cam too!

The result was quite pleasing! You can see a lot of people who looked into my book or bought some Stuff Sucks buttons. The full version is pretty silly, it can be found here

The best part is that by the end of the day I sold enough books to refund the portable webcamera.

Binky rocks. Just the creation of a custom webcam is a great idea. It's tempting to do the same with a spare webcam.

I'm tempted to start going to cons for the express purpose of videotaping the people who come to the booth without telling them. Muahahahahaha.

I saw it! At last, a camera whose presense hasn't made me mug and grimace, simply because I wasn't aware of it.
Not that I'm not a perfectly ugly motherfucker even when relaxed...
