I was bored and tried drawing Tobias so you can see his eyes through his glasses. Does he look like a freak?

He doesn't look like a freak... in fact he's got a cute clueless look. Perhaps you could add a little more details (eg shading, lashes etc.) I've also noticed that all your characters have single eye lids... maybe its your style, but a bit of variation would be nice. Just a suggestion: you could try drawing different eye shapes and types because as you have said so yourself, eyes are the window of the soul thus they are important in displaying the character's emotions.
