The burning question.

Why is this comic's "code" NPC instead of TOTQ? It's been driving me up the wall.

I think i read somewhere in the forums that the comic was originally going to be something about the Non-Player-Characters (NPC's) in games ... but it kinda grew into TOTQ

Reminds me a bit of the comic Kid Radd.

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Beware Raccoons bearing gifts. *remembers the mages' guild's 'present' to the self-appointed emperor*

Meh. I've got nothing to worry about, though. Oscillispace shielding and nanite-regenerative armor -- you ain't gettin' through that in in this lifetime.

Maby I should introduce you to my "invicible" warrior serise.

Pico mark3: Moves 2 meters every tenth of a pico second. His attack is the equivilent of a 120 lb. bullet going through you body (him).

Masternova: Attacks are ripples in space and time. They can distort it so much that your insides wind up on the outside.

Pico mark 4: Comands space and time. Need I say more?

Appolyon: A whole nother univers. Unlimited in almost every way.

These are mainly concept charecters. They are much to powerfull to put in any comic, but it still is fun to make them. I call them "invincible" because they are so darn close, it drives others nuts. :D

i have a character named tare

between dimensions is this stuff, the chaos, called by some ultima or the big green energy. he's made of it.

he goes from one dimension to another branching to many others with each one he destroys and he disolves each one back into the stuff it used to be, which is the same stuff he's made of.

not a very nice guy.

not many friends.

he's lonely.

Hmm...
Maby Crescendo needs to give him a hug! ;)

If he is energy, then his weakness must be antienergy or antimatter. He kind of sounds like another of my charecters Korana. Korana is pure energy, attacking him normaly just makes him stronger. So energy draining attacks and antimatter are supper effective against him. I never did more with Korana that think of him though.

The fourth edition Champions rulebook had some great ideas for "monster" characters. These all fell under the heading of "Are you a Powergamer"

Planetman: This is your average man with the ability to shrink planets down to a handy pocket size. If he is annoyed he takes one out and throws it, turning the shrinking off while one of his friends teleports him to anbother dimension.

Azatoth: He just sits in the center of the universe and gibbers. His powers only work at the center of the universe, except for teleport, which only works outside the center of the universe. He posseses every power in the book in various combinations. He uses N-ray vision combined with obscene amounts of telescopic vision to find things he doesn't like, then he blasts them.

(my personal favorite)

Landlord: For a handful of points, he built a base that covers the known universe. The landlord bought it. He owns everything. And for a little bit more he can have 4 billion loyal followers!

and last, but not least:

Novaman: A man with an explosive temper. If bothered while in his private intensive care ward, he explodes, doing about 700 dice worth of damage to exerything. This will level skyscrapers in a kilometer radius. Of course, he has personal immunity, but he needs new NPC's every time!

(thanks to the creators of Champions for an entertaining game system)

Cool, but do you ever creat your own super charecters?

I'm not sure if tare classifies as energy per say, energy normally exists within dimensions, tare normally doesn't

in order to deefat an enemy, throw something at it that it isn't prepared for/ isn't capable of facing down, every organic being is an attempt at organizing chaos. all you gotta do is introduce enough chaos in the right way into the system to break it down into non-existance, like slitting someone's throat. the throat isn't supposed to be shaped that way and you introduce the chaos of changing it's shape, the results, another body on the floor.

A few notes: Matter and antimatter combine to form pure energy. There is no such thing as "anti-energy". Energy (and, hence, mass) can be negative; but, that's it. Antimatter has positive mass/energy. Now, virtual particles (matter or antimatter) can have negative mass/energy, and negetive mass/energy can be manipulated in other ways. (Another thing to keep in mind is zero-point energy--the energy of the vacuum.)

Tare sounds a little bit like my Darkeners. Destroying universes is the least of their powers, one that they generally try to overcome. (They'd rather create, but cannot.) Darkeners with the ability to probe universes without destroying them have a few advantages: (1.) They don't actually exist in the universe and so cannot be destroyed by the inhabitants. (2.) They can analyze and rewrite the vacuum and thus can copy the powers of anyone they meet.

Some of my other characters can destroy the fabric of spacetime to release energy but are otherwise "normal". Vacuum manipulations are fun!

Do you have theroies to back up why they can do what they do? It is kind of cheap if you don't.

my tech:

All my guys use a device I call and energy core. It is a space time device that creats a black hole in other universes and demntions to get power and matterials. You can make it do a wide variety of things. The most common is imput a small amount of electricity and get a large amount. They can also be used to absorb energy and act like sencery equipment. Since they already change space and time to work, they can also be used to give you Pico mark 4's power.

theroes:

Black holes are bends in space and time big enough to reach other univeres and dimentions.

matter=energy and matter=space so energy=space
time=motion and motion=energy so energy=time
energy=time and energy=space so energy can change both

For the stuff in my notes, look up "physics" on scirus.com and just start reading. You'll eventually get there.

These are a few of my favorites from various champions campaigns:

(Shhhhhh) The Spy: Mystically immortal espionage agent. Started career under Julius Caesar. 2000 years of human tragedy have pretty much jaded him towards ANY government.

Powers: Capable of shapeshifting mass & size from 6 inches to 60 feet. Incredible stealth & infiltration skills.

Favorite attack: The Thumb of god. He transforms into a 60 foot tall 10 ton fist and drops thumb first onto his adversary, then disappears.

Enjoys taking on the shape of various political & media personalities in order to place them in humiliating / bizarre circumstances. (he is responsible for over 50% of Elvis sightings inamerica)

The Random Man, Agent of Chaos: Chosen by divergent forces of the universe to be their representative. Now he boldly goes forth to right wrongs with his trademark unlimited six pack of beer...

Powers: Ummm,... whatever happens.

Favorite attack: Whatever works

Due to he Random nature of his powers, they are unreliable, in game terms that means I have to roll 14 or less on 3 six sided dice. Should I roll an 18 the Random Man falls prey to fractal feedback and implodes. Although it was much looked forward to, it never happened in that campaign... (Character Idea was lifted from the pages of Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine from the story, The Random Man)

Darkwing Dragon: A gold dragon whelp transported from the rifts universe to earth by evil mages for a diabolical plot. This was foiled by a Pittsgurgh Superteam and the infant creature was rescued. He grew with amazing speed and an insatiable desire to learn about earth's culture. Unfortunately, he was exposed to a certain cartoon character at a very impressionable time in his life that forever left his mark on him...

Powers: Pretty well indestructible by conventional means. Potent breath weapon. Don't stand behind him either after chili night :o

Favorite Attack: Eats the doomsday device (*Urp*... What!?, I was hungry)

Most of these guys came from mid range power campaigns, 250 - 350 point base, although at his peak Darkwing was a 700 point demi-god. These guys couldn't level cities in the blink of an eye, but they saved the world many a time and I had fun roleplaying them.... A LOT of fun =^^=

Bofore you get too much of a bad impression I can actually roleplay serious individuals (Don't worry, Redsquirrel, Blastech, Greatdane, Trajan is not going to suddenly turn bizarre. *cough* join the "Mysteries" fanfic *cough*)

There's White Tip, a medevil anthropomorphic fox thrust into modern society in prusuit of the murderer of his wife. He has a mix of magical powers plus a specail sword. And there's Ixtalia, an artificial energy being from a destroyed world. Within her lie the seeds of is rebirth, but possibly the seeds of her own destruction. I would say more, but I am trying to write their story into a novel. If I could draw worth 2 cents (see avatar) I'd make an online comic. A well,... such is life.
