Posting from school at the moment (I was only 10 minutes late, hooray)
I've got an hour until my next class so I'm stuck in the basement computer labs...

(used code to get the table right, how clever am I?)

Code: Select all

    GMT+10 (me) GMT CST/GMT-6
M | 6pm - 11pm | 8am - 1pm | 2am - 7am |
T | 6pm - 11pm | 8am - 1pm | 2am - 7am |
W | 10pm - 1am | 12nn - 3pm | 6am - 9am |
T | 10pm - 12mn | 12nn - 2pm | 6am - 8am |
F | 1pm - 3am | 4am - 5pm | *9pm - 11am | 9pm Thursday, that is
S | 10am - 3am | 12mn - 5pm | *6pm - 11am | 6pm Friday, that is
S | 10am - 5pm | 12mn - 7am | *6pm - 1am | 6pm... you get it

So there're my free times! Looks like Orion's Friday night is my Saturday morning and that I can definately handle.
I've also got D&D3.5E rulebooks and I'm... kinda proficient, a little. But I'm a fast learner, I can say that much.

Also, Orion, fix your post.

Komiyan, can we assume by your previous post that you'd like to sign up too? I know you do D+D and CoC, but I forget your other geek credintials. Since you live in crazy euro land we definitely need to know what times you can play since you'll probably be stretching your schedule the most to fit.

Mostly just what you mentioned, but I know some Shadowrun too. I stay up late, so timing shouldn't really be a problem.. Couldn't make a Wednesday, though, I play darken on that day :p

We want none of your crazy commie games.

By the way Jim, just out of curiosity. Do you have/allow the Expanded Psionics Handbook?

Ew, no.

Too many bad experiences with people playing psi-classes in the past, both in 2nd and 3rd edition. I've learned my lesson.

I would like to sign up, but it seems that life will be compensating all the work I didn't have these past couple of months with a slew of possible assignments for the end of the year that will keep me quite occupied... will know more by the end of the week, hopefully.

Such a good game. I might be willing to GM one, though the proverbial "life" may get in the way.

I've never played Paranoia, but have heard many a fun story about troubleshooters tackling a squirrel because it was clearly a commie in a fur coat.

I played a game in the new Ebberon setting yesterday. Muchos fun..

Indeed, I too look forward to trying out eberon sometime. First really unique campaign setting I've seen since Dark Sun

Dungeons & Dragons 3.5E:

Up to four players. A warrior (Fighter or Paladin are the best choices), a healer (Cleric or Druid), a magic user (Wizard or Sorcerer), and a sneak (Rogue).

Some mixing up can be done (a Monk as the fighter or a Druid as the magic user, for instance), but this is generally the best grouping. The only one that I'd say is almost absolutely required in any adventuring team is the Rogue . . . a Bard can be a sneak, but makes a very poor substitution for a Rogue.

It can be up to five players if someone wants to play a Bard as a support character for the other four.
Dibs on Cleric!

Will you be allowing a whisper gnome, by any chance?

Well, I've officially wrapped up the Cthulhu scenerio that began at the Keen Cookout. So that means its time to start on something new :). Come on Jim, crank something out for us.

I will have to decline :(

Of five projects I had opted for, four became reality (and still waiting word on the fifth, which is the really big one), so... no dice.

That and I'm running the Eberron game at the local D&D 30th Anniversary Worldwide Game Day event ;)

Yes, provisionally.

I doubt it will come down to it, but if I feel that the whisper gnome is unbalancing the game, I will require that the character be shifted to a regular gnome. The shift will not be retroactive except concerning the most immediate circumstances, though.

I'm GMing. If I remember correctly, the tentative player list at the moment is Orion, you (trinket90, natch), Dark Magician, and . . . Komiyan? If I'm not missing anyone, that means we could squeeze in one more player if necessary, but we can go with this group as is otherwise.

On characters, DM has called Cleric. Orion tried for a psi-based character, but I slapped him down. :P I don't think anyone else has mentioned a preference.

As for times, I think you're the only one who's made any strict time table to work with, so there's still no reall telling about that yet. I'm personally up for just about anything that isn't mid to late morning Central time 'cause that's when I sleep . . . but I'm willing to forsake a little sleep time for the game. I might also have trouble with playing on Sundays or Mondays, but that's not absolute.

In short, I'm flexible.

My fable addiction passed very fast, like say ten hours or so. I think there is hope for all who fall under it's enjoyable yet short spell..

Gotcha! I'm actually using a goddess from that excerpt. Guess which one (not very much of a guess, considering there's only one that fits both statements).

My thoughts on the whisper gnome is that the Hide and Move Silently modifiers might become nasty (Hide gets +4 racial, +4 size, and +1 from +2 dex, which means it already starts at +9 from the begining character).

Any house rules? Will you be using point-buy, roll at the chat, or roll and honor system?
