Still innocent (8/13)
Still innocent (8/13)
I guess married life hasn't taken the edge off of Ben's innocence yet - he's still a bit slow on the uptake on some things.
(Not that I dare cast stones, I'm at least twice Ben's age and I too am still slow at picking up on certain hints - until I have my nose firmly rubbed in them.)
On an unrelated note: had Lily's hair even been this dark before the "Goblin Hollow" changeover? Part of what threw me for a loop back on 8/6 was Lily having dark hair.

Speculation here is that she had her hair all done up especially for the wedding.TGIF wrote:had Lily's hair even been this dark before the "Goblin Hollow" changeover? Part of what threw me for a loop back on 8/6 was Lily having dark hair.
Since Ben mentions "that little place with the breakfast buffet", it would seem his memory of where they are and what's nearby is returning.

This whole thing is ANYTHING BUT gratuitous in my mind. There is a rather specific point that I feel is being made here. To wit: chastity for Christian singles is NOT self-flagilation nor prudishness, there are valid reasons why God passed that particular hint along (or vis-versa, he made the rule and then set temporally relevant consequences for breaking it). Showing (tastefully) that Christian couples really know how to get it on is a important statement to make. It is a statement that needs making. There are only two or three other online strips that I can think of that also fullfill this, and only one of Ralphs other strips meets the bill as far as the Christian facet of the situation is concerned:Marcus Talbain wrote:=@.o= well, that's rather gratuitous, guess it was worth the wait
- Nip and Tuck (just the one strip in which one of the brothers accidently walks in while Pa has Ma's bra in his teeth, but...)
- Kevin and Kell (I made sure to complement Mr. Holbrook when he showed up at a local furry convention in this, his home town of Atlanta... amazing....). Kevin is a complete stud-muffin and the couple is in to 'dress-up'(perhaps this last aspect will be emphasized less now that the strip is running in the local newspaper). Kevin is highly faithful despite this being considered 'abberant' for someone of his species.
- One other strip I can't recall the name of, but the wife was an alien who was muscular to the max. I also seem to recall something about golf-clubs...
In any case I think that this sort of thing with Christians putting there money where there mouth is is probably a good thing, although I am much more a logical arguer than an actual student of human nature/public relations/retoric/whatever...

I bet Ben still thinks her lips are 'soft as honey butter'.

We are NOT surrounded.....this is a "target rich" environment!
I'm not sure if it was Ben that was supposed to lose the weight or (RL) Ralph.Sharuuk wrote:Ya mean that Ol' Benny may just lose the requisite 50Lbs and we'll FINALLY get ta see Lily in that killer swimsuit?????
BTW - for those interested in weight loss, I've lost a bit over 40 pounds in three months on the Atkins diet (and despite all the meat, cheese and eggs, my cholesterol has gone down 50 points).
Nothing like a series of strokes to make you get serious about dieting...
