wanted: artist

Post by Noy2222 »

i tried, i really did, but i failed, it happens...

anywho i started 13 beta comicses of "god1, god2 and noy2222"(noy2222.keenspace.com) and while i love the general
way of things, i just can't work with this guy:

noy2222.150m.com/noy2222.jpg

i mean look at him.
sure, he's cute and all, but he's impossible to work with...
plus there's this whole real life(http://www.reallifecomics.com) ripping off thing i really don't want to do...

so like i said, i need an artist, just for this puny but highly needed human.
so, if you can draw someone that looks like him but not him, and are willing to work with me on what I think is going to be the best darn webcomic ever made, AND willing to work for peanuts, i mean invisible peanuts that you can not taste or smell, than reply to this message and add your human pic/talk to me in my msn(noy_2222@hotmail.co.il)/send me an e-mail(noy22@hotmail.co.il)/yell really loud so i could hear you, and i'll pick the bestest of ones to be my artist.

hoping for some good replys

Hey War, can I use that for 'How Not To Run a Comic'? It's hilarious.

I hate to be a bringer of sad truths, but if you do get an artist, hang on to him/her, desperately (no matter how crap he/she is), and don't let him/her get away.

The thing is: there are more writers looking for artists then there are artists looking for writers. (As a matter of fact I haven't seen any artists looking for writers) So If you do get a reply, you are one lucky spray paint godlet.

IMHO, most artists are actually writers who have learnt to draw. No way in heaven are they going to draw a comic for someone else's ideas when they have their own unless they have a bloody good reason to do so.

Them being:

1) Money. Lots of it.
2) Really good writing. And I mean really really really good writing i.e. writing so good that that it blows the said artist socks off and makes him/her go: "my god this is so good I wanna draw it NOW". Course, you'll need to have writing that good first, and writing of that calibre is extremely rare.
3) Blackmail. (Not recommended for obvious reasons)
4) They're a really good friend who can't write but can draw
5) They're a really good friend who can draw and has spare time for a second project.

So if I were you'd I'd worry less about picking the bestest of them all to be your artist, and instead worry about giving that someone an incentive to draw your comic in the first place.

Either that or, invest in a scanner and learn to draw. At least you won't be handicapped if you artist gets fed up and leaves.

Sorry if I sound impatient and blunt, but this is the third 'artist wanted' post I've seen this month.

Good luck.

Cheers, mate!

Poor Noy . . .

Hands took me a while to learn too. A matter of fact, I still haven't mastered them . . . but I suppose that's hardly surprising.

I say you shouldn't go looking for an artist to do your work, you should just develop your blossoming skills.

let's call that plan b(-:
and again, it's not THAT much work...
all i need is X positions and a special one from time to time.
oh and of course i can give away comic stocks that might be worth something if the comic will ever earn any money, but then again, it is as good as invisible peanuts(-:

I don't think Hell needs to freeze over for VT to start match making. She sounds like a busybody anyway so matchmaking wouldn't be beneath her or above her . . . maybe a little to the right. That or she keeps it in the closet behind the cupboard tied to a leash and feeds it vegetable soup and leftover turkey then brings it out on weekends to show the family.
