Why did my comic skip 9/11?

Post by McBean »

So I was checking my comics logs today (9/11) and saw that I already had hits for tomorrow, 9/12 and went to check my comic only to see that it is on the main site. It shouldn't be. Why is that? I didn't put anything up for 9/11 and the time my comic updates is all the same, so why skip today? I don't like it when comics are up when I don't want them to be!

Mine did the same, only my website is right. But the stats are off just like McBean's...All the stats for today say 0, but there are stats for tomorrow, when today hasn't even ended yet... o.o

Similar problem here. Much fewer visits than there probably actually were, are...now I'm getting tenses confused. The calendar seems to be set on the 12th even though it is currently the 11th. Very, very odd.

Nice to see I wasn't the only one. It's a good thing I didn't have a comic in the queue, or I guess it would have updated on a day I did not plan to have a new funny comic up.

Weird...

I've never seen this happen before. Odd it would be today.

What's up?
Of course, I'm the one that isn't JP Sloan or Jim North.

Apparently the server's clock was off a full fifteen minutes and was manually reset. So the cause of this strangeness has been fixed (for a while), but repairing the damage is unlikely. The two most noticable things affected were logs (difficult to fix) and the skipping to the 12th which is now moot.
If it doesn't work, make it.

Hmm. Interesting. I imagine it just means that those two days will be a bit messed up?

When I reset the clock, I missed a day. :P

Sorry about that. We're now syncing with the National Insitute of Standards and Time (NIST)'s clocks.

I've noticed that all the stats on the webalizer prior to yesterday (Sept. 12) are gone. This little clock thing... did it 86 all the stats from last year?

That was a seperate matter -- the drive where the logs are as are the history files filled up. *AIIIEEE* I've restored access to the earlier logs, but Sept 1-12 are gone, gone, destroyed in the attempt, gone, AIIEEEE!!!! :D

Doesn't help that the logs weren't been rolled over and deleted either... operating out of the last 2% of drive space is suicide.
