Willies jeeps like Dasy (at least that's what she LOOKS like) only had a straight six, while Gus's truck most likely has a big V-8 in (*shrugs* car nut, right here folks) I think he's a little over matched....

That may be true but I doubt there's a long smooth road anywhere inside of Malarkey; hill country tends to have a lot of dirt paths doubling as backroads.

Daisy may have a straight six vs. Gus' modern, made-for-city-streets, short block V-8 with an optional 4WD but that doesn't mean the jeep is definitely outgunned. Reboring the cylinders would easily bump the engine volume to equal the big truck's chamber cc's. The longer piston strokes of the straight block engine provides a lot of torque, ideal for driving in bad terrain and hills.

So really it is all a matter of choosing the right ground. A flat straight away will get Tuck dusted by Gus. An all terrain course with a lot of switchbacks will be entirely in favor of the little junker. Anything in between those two extremes would be a toss up.
