That butthead Borzoi thought he was SOOO smug! That loser! But CatsWhisker ain't telling that schmuck squat!
He'll just have to find out the HARD way...
[Laughs sadistically]

His furry butt is going to go throught the wringer!

Question is: should it be the old-fashioned crank or heated dry-cleaning presser style?

Ahh... why bother? His comeuppance is going to be very painful, anyway.

Oooooo....This should be GOOD!!! >) ::cheers for CW and her powers of scariness:: Damn, she'd probably make Gendou Ikari shudder.

As for that final "instinct" that Borzoi read...

I believe it involved the secondary basest of instincts (next to survival) and the suggestion that he excercise the fulfilment of said instinct in an autonymous manner.

In other words...

Gabe, I thought the "flee or fight" response was part of the survival instinct?

Not convinced. I think he reads Catwhisker and sees himself being sliced like a salami ...

One thing that does come to mind - with the sort of hate groups Borzoi heads up, they will often lash out in "retaliation" when a leader of the movement is jailed, because it gives them something they can blame on the group they hate ("damn humans put the law on Borzoi...they must pay!"). This could be just that sort of catalyst, and I wouldn't be surprised if Borzoi is being so smug because he knows it.

In other words, if I'm the folks at the church, I'd be locking up real tight once I heard the news.

I'm glad to see that the BII folks quickly took the step to get Borzoi out of there, though. Good to see I'Brolent in action again, as well.

KFM!

For those of whom didn't believe it before, witness the power of The Look. I am *so* glad I am not Borzoi right now.

(I think CW's displayed instinct at that moment was 'furious slicing death kill kill kill' or something along the lines.)

Hmmm...I feel the need to quote a line from chapter 31 of The White Dog:

In the world of demons, a lot can happen in the space of an instant's glance--most of those things included blurring violence and quick death. And the lady's eyes were full of death indeed.

Rather fitting, in a way... Borzoi was using
the ignorance of the haters to further his
own ends - now CW is using Borzoi's ignorance
of Cotton's ability to stop him in his tracks.

Formidable indeed, when you remember that
Borzoi is, after all, still has his trained
BII repositor ability - and, therefore,
shouldn't be easy to scare!

He sees a big thick wall of doom about to fall
on him - and no way to escape it. She knows
something that he doesn't, and that has made
a rather savage mess of his carefully-laid
plans. >=)

Yes, that's what made it imperative that they
get Borzoi out of the picture quick, so
as to prevent any real organization from
gathering momentum. With their group just
starting up, there will be less chance they
will be well organized enough to take action.

Not physically, no. Psychologically, Borzoi
did come out on the tail end of that discussion.

Something like that... much like 'you wanna
play nasty? Well, we can play nasty too. And
we have an advantage that you can't even
guess at. So it's a good thing you got a nice
long muzzle - makes it easier for you to kiss
your own tail goodbye'. >=)

Yes, I was just thinking this "look" must have carried the instinctual message: "My prey has been rendered helpless, there is nothing to stop me from devouring it at my leisure, and this makes me very, very happy."
