Flamboyant tends to be superlative and pretentious tends to prejorative.

yeah, see you think about those words and while yeahduff is definitely pretentious, i don't really see him as being ostentatious and he's certainly not flamboyant. They may have a similar core meaning but there are nuances that differentiate them.
