Well if you think about requesting a review to build the body of work of the reviewer so that their skills may improve and expand you could almost see it as good deed on your part.Shishio wrote:This is why I don't request reviews.yeahduff wrote:I don't quite understand the practice of requesting reviews. I've learned not to expect hordes of readers to flock to my comic on the basis of a good review, but if you can pick up a handful, then why not?
Initially I figured people would find me on their own, and in fact I did get reviewed several times without asking; I think I got reviewed 5 or 6 times in a little over a month, just out of the blue. But then the review frenzy abruptly stopped, so when I see someone like JTorch actively seeking requests, I feel I should take advantage of that.
I'm not posting comics on the Internet to not have people read them. Anything within reason that can result in new readers is worth doing.

In other news, jotforms died earlier today, and my forms died with it. It came back, but my forms were screwed up. I think I've fixed them now, however. If anyone notices that they've died on me again, don't hesitate to let me know here, by e-mail, on my comic forums, wherever. It's just nice to know as soon as possible so I can fix it.
Anyway, enjoy the review. You may be next! (Unless you are Kels, because I already did your comic.)

Thanks very much for the review. I've got to say, given that this is my first comic, that's a pretty respectable score to get in the end.
As to the "random" button, that's not something I want there so much as iStrip wants it there. They've got a set of customizable buttons that go under the strip, but try as I might I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the middle one. So I ended up just sticking Kron there as a placeholder until I can get around to figuring it out. If anyone else knows iStrip, I'd appreciate the help, actually.
I resist working in colour a bit, mostly because I'm not very confident with it. I've always been a fan of black and white comics as well, which probably works into it somewhere too. But you've got a lot of good advice, and things for me to think about for the future, so that's definitely a good thing.
