There's been some problem lately with the brand confusion between Keenspot and Keenspace. Every once in a while a new Spacer ends up in the Keenspot forums, annoying the heck out of the locals there with questions about their Keenspace accounts.
Every once in a while, someone searching for Keenspot ends up in Keenspace, and is upset because they can't find Sinfest. So people are stupid and can't read. But I hear this problem has been worrying the management for quite some time, and the thing about the Keenspace sampler minicomic is but one example of this. HOWEVER, there has been some talk of changing the names of the two Keens. To be more specific: officially renaming Keenspace to something less confusing.
*waits for the inevitable explosion*
There are pro and cons to this proposal.
The biggest pro is obviously the fact that we get a chance to have our own identity and brandname instead of being perceived as a confusing offshoot of Keenspot. The Keenspotters will also be happy, for obvious reasons that they don't get confused with us. So it's a win-win situation.
The biggest con, is of course the actual work of changing the name.
Anyway, regardless of whether they're serious about it or not, it does lead to some interesting discussion. What would you rename Keenspace to?
Or to phrase the question more clearly: What would you hope Keenspace will be renamed as should they change it?
Personally I could do without the 'Keen' part, but I sure hope they keep the word 'Space' in there somewhere.
BTW, This is not an entirely rethorical question, since Gav has said that they will accept suggestions from us should the renaming issue turn out to be more than discussion, but they reserve the right to make the final decision.
At the present, Gav's given me a week to collect a list of names we'd prefer to be called by to be submitted for suggestion. When the final decision is made whether they actually will rename Keenspace or not, and if they decide that the answer is yes, they'll almost probably certainly pick the name there and then as well.
I don't know about you, but I think I want them to have a nice list of names to pick from by then so we don't end up being called something silly.
So get to racking your brains and post 'em here so I can do the compiling.
Oh, and the first person who suggests 'Inebriated Chicken' is going to be shot.
