That's probably why it was neat.Turi wrote:Sorta. Only it wasn't very Garfield-ish.

Not really. The show used the characters and the concept. The writers just took it a step up for a different medium. If it were exactly like the strip (like all "quickies"), what'd be the point? And the show went off the air before it could get repetitive like the strip. This off topic, so I'll stop now.
So yeah, Boondocks. 11:00 sundays.

I watched the show too. I laughed my ass off, expecially at plenty of the jokes ("Hey! you used the N-word 46 times yesterday! How can you yell at us for using it?"). Not much of political babble, however, but more story driven, which I think is for the best. Can't wait to see the next episode. The Neko wrote:I watched the show and thought it was great; especially when the upper-crust woman says "I think the N-word is okay if they say it," and then everyone breaks into a round of applause.
People have been debating that word and even eubonics for years, and nobody has really gotten anywhere, other than having moral outrage and possibly feeling better about themselves because it gives them the opportunity to prove how not racist they are.
You know, i should work on this.

The cartoon was very funny. As for the idea that words can hurt you is crazy. Words only have mean because you give them meaning, which is this one word can mean so many thing to different people. If a word hurts you, it is because you choose to give the power to hurt you, to some else. And why would you do that? Most common reason, so you have an excuse to hurt them. You see all the time. The little brother does something wrong and the older one punches while saying don

I did not read your post, but I think it's safe to assume what you tried to say is that, under Emminent Domain, all churches should be demolished because they don't generate tax revenue.lazycracker wrote:This is the reason for the strip and cartoon. . But in the end AS is there for people stuck at home without booze money.
(Just remember there is 3:1 church to bar ratio in Sav but who pulls in more money...anywho)

I, um, had a bit of problems in understanding what Lazycracker says in his post. I think I got it right till the emoticons, but after that, it's all Spanish villages to me.LibertyCabbage wrote:I did not read your post, but I think it's safe to assume what you tried to say is that, under Emminent Domain, all churches should be demolished because they don't generate tax revenue.lazycracker wrote:This is the reason for the strip and cartoon.
