How do you usually celebrate your comic's anniversary?

For discussions, announcements, non-technical questions and anything else comics-related or otherwise that doesn't fit in any of the other categories.

How do you usually celebrate your comic's anniversary?

Post by Eunice P »

I'm curious, how do you guys actually celebrate your comics anniversary? I've never celebrated my comics' anniversaries before even though one of my comic's 2nd year anniversary was two months ago.

By the way, I myself never celebrates birthday parties throughout my life. So I suppose it would be a first for me to celebrate a belated anniversary for my comic. :D

Yeah, drop a line somewhere saying you're a year older (mind you...seems a year on its own is pretty good in this line of work...I find that a little sad) so people know what's out there. I've only celebrated one (but I'll push on towards a few more as the months continue to roll by), and I just suggested that anyone who was an active reader that felt the urge to send a gift of some sort was welcome to do so and left it at that.

I held a Birthday Week for it featuring whatever I was sent, then went back to the normal updates

It was fairly low key.

Cheers.

A special comic and I give my employees a nice gift. Last year it was a coffee maker. Maybe this year I'll give them coffee, or turn on the power.

Excessive drinking. Or, if copious amounts of alcohol prove too difficult to obtain, I just make a crummy old character evolution chart.

Dance a jig on some little blonde kids piano.
Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

I pretend to ignore it, then watch to see if anybody notices. Those that do, I take off my secret 'enemies' list. :)

I know when my comic's anniversary is, but I'd prefer to celebrate my birthday which is three days after it :D.

I usually just make a notice somewhere that my strip's a year older, then maybe I'll make a 'special' strip for the Day. Anything more, and I feel like it's more like a mummers parade than an anniversary.

I just draw a pic with the current cast and ponder in a paragraph or two about the year's progress.
