Ha! He misspelled "receive"! And he couldn't even spell "copyright," and he claims to own one. I'm surprised he could even copyright a title like World Warp, it's a rather common phrase.

I think that's just a tad bit illegal .
<Legostar> merc is all knowing, all seeing, and not caring

He's a crazy alright. I'm also a bit curious who he copyrighted his title with. I bet he copyrighted his actual comics, and assumed the name was copyrighted along with it.

It's not illegal to seek a trademark for a title that you legitimately work under and can show that you have worked under it in the past. Trademarks are on a first come, first serve basis.
It's also not illegal to do something that'll cheese someone off.
I say do it. It's several hundred dollars and up to a two year wait tho.
Crossfire: "Thank you! That explains it very nicely, and in a language that someone other than a physicist can understand..."
Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"
IV you missed the boat on your response. You should have said:
While I have every right to use Warp World without fear of legal recourse I've decided to change the name. Not because I am trying to avoid a legal battle but because you product is so substandard I don't want anyone confusing my fine product with your chicken scratchings. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and helping me avoid possible humiliation from fans searching for my comic and stumbling on yours.

If I had a couple hundred dollars to spare I would. It would be so sweetly ironic.
Err, have you considered the downside of sharing names with another comic author? The two of you may be confused with eachother some day if one (or both) become succesful. I'm not saying you should change your title, just bringing up something that hasn't been mentioned here so far.
