Anybody interested in a little NaNoWriMo this year?
Well, it's almost September again, and I was brushing the dust off the NaNoWriMo forums and trying to narrow down the half dozen ideas I usually have floating around in my head to the one I'm gonna do this year, and I figured it was time to start plugging it to see if any of ya'll wanted to attempt insanity this year.
For those of you not in the know, NaNoWriMo is the acronym for National Novel Writing Month. Insane writers from all over the globe get together online to attempt a 50,000 word novel (hereby shortened to 50k in full NaNo tradition) in thirty days because we know that with the threat of an insane deadline looming, we WILL write more than we ever did in the other eleven months of the year.
What: Write 50,000 words (50k) in thirty days. Duh.
When: November 2005
What do you need?: Insanity, word program and high tollererance for caffine and insanity.
Why...the heck would anybody do this to themselves?: FOR GLORY!!! and a really cheesy print-out certificate.
And to have a finished first draft of whatever novel idea's been knocking around your head for years. Seriously, this is the one time of year when I can sit down and write and have it all just come. Something about that insane deadline (Which I'm upping to 125k because fifty just ain't enough no more) makes me more creative than in the other 11 months of the year. What you'll get won't be really coherant (that's what NaNoEDmo is for) and it won't be worth sending to an editor or a publisher--unless you're really, really stupid and LIKE public humiliation--but it'll exist.
So...any takers?

Hmmm... so vey tempting... it would be difficult for me since I haven't written prose in a long time, but I'd like to think I'd give it a try though I probably won't. Unless I can convince myself to write one of the stories I've been wanting to do for my comic for a long time now,

I would totally do it again this year, but with three english and humanity classes this semester, I don't think I'll have much time to even consider it.

Tried and failed last year. This year I'll be so busy with school and work I don't even know what I'll be doing webcomic-wise.
