I need some SERIOUS help with the archives.

Post by Jetbunny »

Please note that I am completely clueless with FTP clients. Hell, I haven't even gotten close to using it with Keenspace. I've read what I can (since I'm trying to get a grasp on the info before I start), but there's a little I don't know...

How do I make an Archives page? You know, one with the calendar-style listings of the months and days that had comics? Also, what would be the links that I would link my first, next, previous, and today's comic buttons to? Does keenspace make pages for this automatically, or do I have to create a whole new page just for archiving each comic?

Argh, my head hurts...

Any help would be dearly appreciated. And trust me, I'm not going anywhere near that whole "dropdown menu with the names for each comic on it" thing. I fear that my very cerebellum would explode.

it's Auto-Magic!

just put :

***todays_comics*** for the current image

and for the buttons put:

***first_comic***

***previous_comic***

***next_comic***

***last_comic***

for a calander I believe it is ***calendar***

then name that page indextemplate and daily template and overwrite those files in workspace. then put your comics in comics.

at the bare minimum all you have to do is put your comics in the workspace/ comics folder labeled appropriately.
I remember caring... It was nice.

dailytemplate.html is what autokeen will use to build your archive pages, indextemplate.html is for the index page only.
