Okay, folks, it's two weeks until the gathering! I won't have a banner, but I'll see about wearing the way-old KeenSpace cap and t-shirt (so old it has the origional logo -- time to retire that and seal it!).

Who's all going? I hope to have everyone gather around Gate A (next to the S'Barro). I may be late depending on how I can get down there.

EDIT for those who followed the link from Space's front page or Comixpedia: We will be invading Washington, DC July 9th, 2005. Meet us by Gate A of Union Station (on the Red Line) if you'd like to meet some of the artists behind your favorite 'Space comics, as well as the admin who wrangles the whole mess!

However (not that weather forcasts are too terribly reliable) we're scheduled to get a lot of rain over the next 10 days. What do people want to do if we get rained on?

If it's sunny, we should play calvinball...

I'd probably suck at it.

I'd probably do what I would do if it stayed hot and muggy the whole time: stay indoors for as long as possible.

We've got the movie theater there at Union Station, so that's one option (*cough*Fantastic4*cough*). We have our comic almost-obligations to hang out and doodle. Plus, it's my goal by next week to get a deck of KeenCards made up...they might not be perfect, but they'll be playable.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I'll be able to make it. A wedding shower landed right smack in the middle of it. grrr.

I'm interested, but I have a couple questions. One is, would I be the youngest (I'm 15)? Two, would I be the only one who doesn't really know anybody else? Those kinda situations are awkward, when everybody knows everybody, except for you. I live in VA and it ain't that far to DC, so getting there isn't a problem. It's just when I get there that I'm worried about... :lol:

Well, first off, I don't know any of these people either. Secondly, I...no, actually, I'm not younger than you, really, even if I do act 8, or 5, or 2. Technically I'm 19, though.

Oh yeah! I'm hoping to be able to go. I took that day off from work because I need to go to Eastern Market. How much time do y'all intend to spend, and how, and what do I need to bring (besides my sketchbook)?

To answer some of the questions posed: at 15, yes, you'd likely be the youngest. No, you wouldn't be the only one who doesn't know anyone else (although, you're also at a disadvantage for being a newcomer to the forums). How much time are we going to spend? Either until bedtime, or until we get sick of each other, whichever comes first. The general plan is to meet, and then just kinda wing it from there. You don't really need to bring anything else.

Recommendations for stuff to bring are:

Pen/pencil/drawing stuff.
Cash for food/drink/suveniers
Backpack or satchel to carry stuff in.
ConBadges with your known alias on them.

Laptops w/chargers and WiFi cards are optional. I'll be bringing one of mine.

Oh, we may have to wrap it up around 9pm for sure -- the last B30 bus from Greenbelt is at 10pm, otherwize it's Amtrak to where I am.
