Name meanings = irony
I was reminded the other day that my name means "worthy of love," which is pretty ironic, considering how much luck I have with that aspect of my life. Meanwhile, my son Edward's name means "protector of wealth," which is absolutely fricking hysterical...
So, anyone else feeling inappropriately named?

Were her parents computer programmers? They get Christmas and Halloween mixed up a lot.
My name means "manly" which isn't a great description, but it's not bad enough to be ironic either. Oddly enough, I've met girls called Andrea and even Andrew, which both mean the same thing. That is ironic.

My real name means humble.
My real middle name... Any deep meaning I do not know but it is the Swedish word for shoulder.
My surname is a location of some sort.
My forum alias is a title, roughly equivalent with Emperor.
Not really humble at all is it?

Så länge skutan kan gå, så länge hjärtat kan slå, så länge solen den glittrar på böljorna blå...
I googled my name, which is Nicolette (I was named after Nicolette Sheridan @_@). The only meaning I could find was "people's victory" o__O

Quick checkup on a name site reveals that my middle name is a derivate that means "father of peace".
My first name has also been carried by a few kings...
For a humorous anecdote: My mother and father named me and my brother in an attempt to pick names that noone else in the extended family had, while our middle names are from our grandfathers.
Turns out, my grandmothers (on my fathers side) uncle and father carried exactly the names me and my brother carry today. So much for originality.

First Name: Female sheep. In a biblical sense it also has the equivalent meaning of "dumb blond" or "trophy wife."
I've yet to forgive my mother.
Middle Name: Bitter
Last Name: city in Lower Saxony (that's Germany)
And for PeppermintAfterlife and Nicotine....
Christopher: One who carries Christ. Patron saint of travellers.
Nicolette: Victorious (French variation of Nicole (which is the feminine form of Nicholas)

My first name is Healer...which given the most famous Jason out there is laughable to say the least.
My last name is german for....according to my father..."Man of the sea"
I think he's just yanking my schwansthucher. I believe Siebels is actually a vairation of Seibolds, which is the combination of the german "sigi" or victorous and "bald" or couragous. Which given my German ancestory, and my rather militant temper when confronted, does seem to hold true.

Real life name meaning
My real name translates to "valiant little king farmer" (first, middle and last). As far as I know, I'm not any of those at present.

Here we stand, here we fall; history don't care at all. Make the bed, light the light; Lady Mercy won't be home tonight.

I don't actually like Wine. Does that make Burgandy ironic?

My name is apparently adapted from a surname, and means Hayclearing.
I've only found one resource that says that, though. Most are silent on the subject, and a few have contradictory terms that start with H, which somehow look to me like they were filled in at the last second for marketability reasons.
It isn't ironic, but I think it's funny.
