So Hitchhikers was sweet. Me and my buds went to see it with towels in hand (as did a significant portion of the theater). It varies a bit from the book, but that's not a problem as Adams intended each incarnation of the story to have not really a whole lot to do with the one prior. There were several in-jokes for the book-readers so I'd recomend having read the book first just so you don't miss out, but not mandatory. You'll still laugh at it. It's really quite funny.

Make sure to stay through the credits.

And I still have the dolphin song stuck in my head. ^_^

Damn it >< I didn't even think to bring a towel ; ;

I can't believe I forgot something so important

I went to the midnight showing and everything, but there were only like 10 people there. I guess it's not that popular in viginia ; ;

Ahh, well If I go to see it again I am definitly bringing a towel ^^
Hmmm, a signature. Never was good at these things. I always end up rambling on about nothing. crap >< I did it again :P

It helps to live in a geek college town. The theater was full for our midnight show. And everyone had towels (except our non-geeky roommate - but even she wished she'd brought one by the end of the show! ^_~ ) Because it's fun to be a dork!

ok I finally saw it. I didn't like it, I didn't hate it, but the BBC version was better (well mostly, at least Trillion wasn't an airhead in this one). I did appreciate the guest appearance of the real Marvin (at the office on the Vogon home planet if you missed it). oh well better than most stuff out nowdays

My friends and I finally all got together and went and saw it. But alas, not one of our five heads thought to bring a towel... we did stay for the guide bit during the credits (thx for the tip btw), and the overall impression was definitely good. Espically erm, that sequence after the infinite improbably drive activation... you know... the upset stomach one.... And the several minute long pull out on the vorgon ship was good too :)

Yay! I finally saw it last night...and I rather enjoyed it :D

nooblet: I have to admit that I too liked the BBC version a bit better...maybe because the BBC version was made for a British audience and the movie theatre version was made for and international audience *shrug* whaddya think?

The file is 14MB and I'm on a dial up so please take a look and see if it's worth spending a few hours downloading it.

lol that was funny, I don't know about a couple hours to download though, depends what you are doing I guess.

As far as an international audience, I think you mean a dumbed down version for American audiences *shakes a fist at Disney*
I did like it, but I really hoped for more, many things left out made me sad.

What I really didn't like about it was the lack of explanation about the towel. I mean, yeah it was there, but unless you read the books you'd think it was just some crazy idea meant to be funny. All they really needed was a few minutes of Guide visuals with the explanation for why towels are so important.

I finally saw it today with some friends. Though I haven't read the book I still found it quite funny. Maybe even worth another visit or atleast renting it when it comes out.

I heard somewhere that they had originally intended to have more guide entries, but they got sacked due to time constraints.

Knowing Disney, they'll probably have about five or six seperate DVDs attempting to mimic the Guide...

But that's not the point...

Haven't seen the movie, but I've gotten mixed reviews. My brother, at the dear and tender age of 12, thought it was cool... but he's never read the book.

My best friend, who's read the book, said the thing sucked.

I've heard more 'It was cool' reviews then 'I want to burn it' ones. Might be the Disney thing...

Then again, people who played the game said the Resident Evil movie sucked... there were others, who didn't, said it rocked their socks.

Then there's me, scarred for life because I'm so damn sheltered... and I think both movie and game are nicely awesome...

*looks over shoulder for signs of flesh-eating zombie dogs and shudders*

Yeah... sheltered...
