Wow, back from another long absense. Remember I mentioned that I was designing the makeup for a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream? Well, it's done and there are photos if anyone's interested!
Where's a picture of Bottom? I played him once, and it would be interesting to see how he looked like as a donkey. (the time I played him, I had to wear this ugly donkey hat. Don't remind me about all the names i was called related to wearing that crap)
Just the other day I asked myself "whatever happened to Chris Mills?" and immediately assumed you'd been croaked in some outrageous fashion while on a spying mission in an exotic locale.

Reminds me of a production I saw two years ago. The non-magical people were dressed as if they'd be on Will and Grace, all preppy and stuff. The forest-fairy types were punk rockers. Titania led the fairies in a song to the tune of "I Wanna Be Sedated" backed by a guy wearing red plaid trousers, suspenders and a bowler hat playing the susephone badly. Puck was a total badass in a green trenchcoat, combat boots and flight goggles. It was pretty awesome.
those are tight, i was asked to design costumes for
some bertolt brecht play re-imagined in ancient china,
but it ended up being too expensive, so
i did set design instead. wah wah waaaaah.
That's pretty nifty! What did Bottom look like? We did costumes for Midsummer a few years ago, and as fun as the fairies were, nothing was quite as awesome as bottom's ass head.

The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
And there actually is a picture with Bottom, fifth from the end. It's the red one with the fairies all around. Sadly most of the fairy scenes were REALLY dark (a necessity for the blacklights), so I couldn't get good shots.

I was in a production of that 5 years ago. I played Robin Starvling and Corky (my dog) was in it too.
I wish our director would have let us get as creative with the make up as yours. He was dull. We came up with neat ideas and she shot them down. we ended up painting all of the female fairies pink and the males green >.< Except Puck. Puck we glued small leaves on her face and arms.
Any Hoo, I love the make-up designs you did. They look awesome.
At one of my previous schools they did a performance of a Midsummer Night's Dream. They had a little preview show a few days before the actual one, where they acted out a few scenes without costumes or sets. Or actually there was a costume. The guy who had the role of Bottom wore a paper bag on his head, with the word "DONKEY" written on the sides.
