Ghastly,

i have seen all your Pictures from your Germanytrip and have read all your Comments:
You did a real great Work.

I am very fascinated about the Ways you discovered, about the View on Objects, what you was photographing, and was very amused about your Comments.

*G*R*E*A*T* !!!
I think you can make immedidly a Job as Travelwriter and Photographer.
And i am shure, you will have Sucess.

The Way you show Baden-Baden trough your Eyes is so different from all, what i have seen from Books about german Towns and has much more Fascination and Charisma.

You did something beautiful, my big Compliment !

Zoing

That's some awesome photography there, Ghastly. What kind of camera do you use?

Also, I LOLed at the tale of Baron Von Vonervonner, the first pivot man in Germany.

This was the first trip where I went entirely digital. I took my Fuji 3800 digital camera with a 512M and a 256M XD card. I can't believe how much the price of XD cards has come down since last year. I bought the 512M card for less than what I paid for my 256M I bought with the camera.

I haven't touched my 35mm film camera since getting the digital.

There are 70 pics online from India and 59 pics online from Germany.

And it was "Rape More Cans" a sentiment that has me perplexed.

Sniff. I stand corrected. Twice. Sniff.

Anyway, really? Seemed like way more Germany pics and I was enjoying them more, especially the architecture and castles. :)

And yes, it was more obtrusive with Rape vs. Fuck but still... Weird.... One of these days I REALLY need to spend a month or two in Germany, just to see if it is really as weird as it seems.

I've never noticed Germany to be particularly weird, and I've been there a fair bit. Of course, now I'm beginning to wonder what that says about me...
This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.
Oh noes! Read all about the tormented artist I am!

I love your pictures and the accompanying commentary. I was a bit surprised to hear that you're into hiking around a lot (when not deathly ill), with the arthritis and gimp stick, but pleasantly surprised and glad that you got so many pictures and stories out of your trip. Also, you look younger and younger every time your picture is taken!

I'm amazed that India has such a high population density and still seems to have so much forest and undeveloped land, but maybe that's just the impression I'm getting from the particular sample. That's one more place I must visit in my lifetime (perhaps because it's the only chance I have of ever finding a job again).

BTW, how did your son get to be an order of magnitude taller than your daughter? Does he steal her food when you and the misses aren't looking? The Jolly Green Giant and Keebler Elf seem closer in size! :)

Yeah, graffiti sucks. The German police are using helicopters with infrared cameras to find and catch graffiti criminals, but people are complaining that it's a waste of resources and creating a dangerous situation... Personally, if I ever caught someone "tagging" something of mine, I'd be tempted to Sharpie my own "tag" on his forehead (something stronger than "The city loves you."); at the very least, the graffiti cops should have paintball guns and the paint should be mixed with skunk oil. (Of course, if they shoot at the criminals while they're near the stuff that's being destroyed then it has mixed results.)
</Grrr! Arg!>

Germany isn't weird at all. I only got to spend about 36 hours in Frankfurt. It was a last-minute thing (a long layover on a trip back from Israel) and the hotel desk at the airport found me a great place to stay in the middle of what appeared to be a red-light district; then I finally realized that most of Frankfurt had brothels, sex shops, etc. all over the place. It was also surprising to hear "Heil Hitler!" coming from the TV when I was in the shower, but then I realized they were just playing old Hogan's Heroes reruns, dubbed in German.

While I was there, I made a point to get a copy of Der Struwwelpeter, the German standard in (and absolutely the greatest) bedtime stories for little children. No wonder Germans are known for being somewhat obedient.

Did you get to the Doms Church in Frankfurt? Not only is it absolutely beautiful (inside and out), but I love the story of how the Allies took pains to avoid bombing it during WWII -- not because of awe or respect, but it was a great landmark for finding and bombing the heck out of the city over and over again. (I would have knocked the church down myself and made a portable Inflate-A-ChurchTM to confuse the Allies.)

One last question: Why does the angel statue have an antenna on her back? (To receive Kenny's commands from the Golden PSP?)
