I hadn't even thought of it as OOC. It makes perfect sense for the story to me.
Of course, I happen to agree completly, but even if I didn't, it seems totally in charecter.

To DragonMasterHawk:
So what? It's within the context of the story and Quentyn's actions. It's related using terms you'd expect from Quentyn. And it's not like he's drawing parallels to specific real-life occurrences.

Correct. However, the more discreetly it's done, the better.Jace wrote:To DragonMasterHawk:

As I said before, we disagree. I will continue to think it's OOC, and you're perfectly welcome to think it's IC. It doesn't matter, regardless. The comic is now part of continuity, and it's going to stay there.

Actually... do you mean OOC as something that does not fit Quentyn's character, or OOC meaning that it's Ralph speaking? As I said before, we disagree. He is right for the most part, in my opinion...Sure it seems out of chracter for him to be doing this in ways, but also I think we've all done some out of our character stuff...like for example: lets say a goth/emo kid comes to school wearing a Tie Dye shirt that says "SCHOOL SIPIRIT", and keeps saying how great life is. Well thats kind a extreme to compare to the current situation....so I'll chose something from nip and tuck...Take tagger for example, he likes "Bitty Pretty Pony"... We all do some times(I'm not saying we all like Bitty Pretty Pony for those of you who like to missinterperate things)...Oh and I guess you could say myJace wrote:He's tired, sore and frustrated, and a bit angry. I think an extreme reaction is understandable.
After all... I think a lot of what Colin and Quentyn went through would not have happened if not for Raintree.
Good freakin' grief.DragonMasterHawk wrote:And that's where we disagree. I believe it's OOC.
He's a tiny little guy who makes his living ATTACKING THINGS.
Now he's been forced to go several nights without sleep, scared completely shitless, been attacked three times in one night by hordes of spectral rats, dragged half-dead out of a sewer, none-too-subtly leaned on by the Guard, and now he's nose to nose with the guy whose 'expert advice' caused all that, and a good share of family heartache for Colin and his parents besides.....
Take it from the guy who CREATED Quentyn, DragonMasterHawk--- THIS IS IN CHARACTER.

RH has it absolutely pegged about this being in character.
Put it another way: Quentyn is capable of holding absolutely firm beliefs. Go back to the beginning - he turned that truth-stone into a dang lighthouse for a few seconds, stunned the hell out of everybody present.
To then say he'd be shy about *expressing* said firmly held beliefs is just nuts.

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.
