Keenspace Competition: Rennaisance Art
Oh, this is terribly neat!! n_n It's a great idea, especially for a newbie like me to possibly get some recognition. (Eheh, I hope?)
Not sure on who or what I'll do, but it certainly'll be fun. I'll go on and start tomorrow after some research tonight. Probablly DaVinci or Michaelangelo since they're the ones I know the most about. n_n

This sounds like a cool idea. I'll try to get myself a round tuit.
Oh, a question, Spriteville: How strict is your limit at the lower bound? Will mediaeval artists be acceptable, or does it have to be Renaissance? Rules lawyer, who? me?

I'm thinking for this specific event that just the Renaissance should go in. But all truth be told you could probably sneak it in an art ingorants such as myself wouldn't know. (But there are some informed people here you'd have to slip it by =])prettydragoon wrote:Oh, a question, Spriteville: How strict is your limit at the lower bound?
I'll be doing other contests over time so if this isn't you're cup of tea I'm sure something will pop up.
(Although personally I'd love to fully open the art periods (cause I hate saying no), but this makes for a more specific competition.)
Uh, so in answer, just the Rennaisance for this competition.

OK, cool. So I won't be tying myself in knots trying to do Celtic or Norse zoomorphic twisty-beasties then.

It's tempting, really tempting... I think I'll try.

And recieved, thank you Starline.
UPDATE:
I forgot some info.
Submission: PM me your picture and a link (or picture) to the original piece you copied from. I'll set up either a big long post, or a seperate web page (which is cleaner) for all submissions.
If you are doing a "period" piece. (A picture that is not a copy but an emulation of the Renaissance style), just indicate that.

This does sound awesome. It seems like most people are doing their own versions of existing renaissance works rather than new ones in the styles of renaissance artists, which I think means the end results will tend to look better
