A Questor Keeps His Promise

Post by Maxgoof »

Here's another take on that incredible fight scene:

Edit note: I redid the text editing to include the entire promise.

Wow... that works just as well. Nice edit. If there were room for two different sets of narration boxes, you could have both Quentyn's prayer as he fought and this dialogue, for a nice contrast...

Surprisingly fitting replacement of... um... text.
I wanted to say dialogue, except that is' quoting, instead...
"If life hands you lemons, kick the lemon farmer in the shins."
Hehehe. Funny.

Very interesting, But Ralphs version is the best.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

I agree. I just wanted to show just how apropos Quentyn's promise to Colin really was.

Quentyn now has two people who will always look up to him with awe--Colin and Nessie.

It works beautifully that the two characters who owe the most to Quentyn are both younger than himself. As the hero of the day, Quentyn can enjoy a somewhat condescending, if sincere, congratulation from the adults in his community, but to be really and lastingly respected, it takes those who are growing up with him, and can thus take him fully seriously as one of themselves.

Beating up on nuns can be habit-deforming...

Enough of your monk-eyshines.
When trouble arises and things look bad, there's always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is insane.
