IV T-1 line into the left arm. (I keep tangling the cord with it on the right).

Would romans call an I.V. a "Four"?

Dialup here, it takes awhile to load, but seeing as how it only updates once a week, and I just go to the forums the rest of the week, a bit of a wait is no bad thing.

It annoys me when I am home, cause I don't want to wait for it to load to start reading the comic, but then I have to wait while reading it.

Very much sadness.

I demand the tentacles now!

My family's running cable. If I'm not getting the comic in seconds, it means there's a problem somewhere.

I do have problems a lot though... Our connection may be fast, but it's not very stable...

ADSL, loads super spiffy fast for me.

Went to my mom's place and she has dail-up. Didn't load too slowly there either. Keep in mind I cut my online teeth with a 300 baud modem back in the early 80s when I would sneer with contempt upon those poor schmoes slogging it out at 110 baud. Everything seems much faster now adays.

Anyone else remember the days of downloading porn at 300 and 1200 baud? And how you felt if the description was misleading and you just wasted an hour on a stupid pic?

:)

Ah... those were the days! Oh Lord and Crossroads... where would I be now if it wasn't for you?

I am glad I got into BBS's when 1200s came out.

What was YOUR favorite BBS dialing program? For me, I always liked my old version of Telex (I say old because I was about 3 full versions behind)

Red Ryder was my favorite..

Lesse.. I ran two BBSes Mt. Olympus and Freeside Orbital, had the first 14.4 line in all of Central Florida.. ahhhhh the good old days.

A buddy of mine is currently porting Crossroads to Java so it can run on the web.

Oh, now that would be SO cool. I miss that game. Never got too far, but it was the first case I ever had of running into a Twinker (Not the Red Mage variety, but the ones that give you good armor/weapons)

Now that I think about it, I think that was also the first simultaneous multiplayer game I played.

Ya know, it's funny. I can remember good old Qmodem and Zmodem and Xmodem as my downloading protocols and yet I can't remember what my dialer was... I also remember good old Emacs. Loved that program. Even used it into the early 90's.

ah yes our beloved Zmodem download which let you pick up downloading from where you left off if you got disconnected, (which tended to happen quite a bit when your sister wanted to call someone every 5 min  )

I'm proud to say my birthday falls upon the date of Johannes Kepler's conception (by his own calculations).

It's usually pretty fast for me, but now with the newer stuff it's slower and I'm not quiet sure why.
