Prime Evil
Prime Evil
Hello everyone!
My sister and I have been working on this comic in a chibi-ish manga style, about an evil video game boss who gets bored and sucks a teenage boy from the real world into his game. Ross, the spiky-haired kid, has to go through the game posing as the hero, making friends and foes as he struggles to get back home. We have about thirty comic pages uploaded, so I figured now would be a good time to get some attention. This is our first try at a comic, so if you have any critiques, they would be appreciated! Thanks!

Ah, very cute. From the description of the comic, I was expecting much worse. I really like your art style, and you've got some good humor, but there's not too much right now differentiating your comic from all the others in its genre. So I think that, at least at first, you're going to be overshadowed by comics like RPG World.
I think the best advice I could give would be to keep going. You're just starting out, so I'm sure you'll be able to distinguish yourselves in time. Good luck.

Wow, this is one of the best comics I have seen pitched here!
First off, Your page layout is simple, sweet, and good on the eyes.
Second, I love the art style. Verry cute. I know I shouldn't admit that because I'm a guy... But I can always kill the witnesses later. You do a great job right from the begginning of making the characters quirky and amusing making me captivated from the start. A rare thing considering that in most cases I have to force myself through the first bunch to get to the more recent things that don't suck. And the screentones work perfectly. Do you use real ones or photoshoped ones? Just curiouse.
Lastly I love the the stoytelling. The writing is original and witty without infringing too much on RPGworld's territory. As long as you are carefull to stay original in how you do the hand drawn sprite thing you should be okay in that respect.
Seriously. If this where a book on the shelf of a bookstore I would buy it. No kidding. And you will only get better from here.
SO HURRY UP AND MAKE A BOOK ALREADY SLACKER!
And damnit! Now I want to go do a chibi comic! Look at what you did! It's all your fault!
So... count me in as a regular reader....
-And oh yes!
*Kills all the witnesses*

Hey, all --
First off, I want to thank you for taking the time to click on the link (this is "the sister" Herodoll mentioned -- bow down and fear me, buahahaha!) and to subsequently read/comment on our humble comic. We've no plans to stop anytime soon, and all of your advice greatly helps! Here's hoping Mr. Ian-J Quarterly doesn't need to sue us, eh?
Thanks again!

This is pretty precious, yeah. I like how the person from the real world knows more about the sprite world than the sprites. It'll be interesting to see where this goes, what character stuff develops.

::gasp!:: Someone else bumped us? And not just anyone, mind you... We're honored, all of you -- thank you so much! Ya'll have no idea how much good this does for my already inflated ego. And yes. I did say "ya'll."

Very nice art, very good humor.
But concept seems to be a naughtier version from rpgworld, nothing wrong with that, but you must'nt be afraid to try out new stuff.
Nothing more hilaric for example to give the current hero a yugioh complex, where he tries to defeat others for the cards but nobody gives a rats ass and nobody actually plays the game.
Make jame's weapon turn into a fullgrown robot that either doesn't understand him, is purely sarcastic all the time and hates humans or just never listens.
Kristina can remain the same to bring a counterbalance to the party as the only "normal" person available. (Humor isn't just watching idiots prancing around, it's watching normal people observe the idiots and questioning it).
Basicly, it adds up to adding humorous flaws to your current characters.
But that's just my opinion :grins:

Hm, interesting suggestions, thank you.
And yes, we're trying very, very hard not to step over RPG world's copyright. It'll get more original as we go along, I promise.

Doubt it. The plot is more than original enough. Especialy the villain. I see no problems with that.tarotreader3 wrote:it's too bad that people will think that this is just a second rate RPG WORLD, but the art is nice, and the site design is really well done. I'll be checking back on it from time to time. I really like the character designs.
