Colored in or Stroke?

Post by Akewataru »

Generally, I'm just starting the comic and still experimenting.

Here's my comic: Reflections of Immortality

Would it be best to leave the hair as is (where you actually see the strokes of the pens used) or should I fill it in and keep only the highlights of the hair's shine? O_o

That hair looks really nice. I'd leave it. Of course, the other way might save you some time. It's a trade off, I guess.

Oh, yah, that looks very nice as it is.

As-is looks exelent. A lot of people draw hair like they're outlining some kind of bizzare liquid, and this way you can tell that it's hair.

Keep it. It is well worth the extra effort.

Coloring tutorial It's a little like coloring boot camp. Without the boots.

Given your art style, I think it'd be an abomination to change the way you're doing the hair. Currently it looks like something you'd pick up in a manga while cruising through the comic book store. I think that's probably something you should stick with.

I think your stroke method is working quite well. It's very well done.
