Sad ___ in the snow!!!

Post by MixedMyth »

Gwahahahaaaw! Alright, I'm getting mighty fed up with Megatokyo. So it's time for a parody! Why should it always be sad girls in the snow? Why not sock puppets? Or pirates? Post your parody here. It may or may not be relevant to your comic. Let the games begin!

Presenting, a sad Puck in the snow.

Poor horse... his butt must be freezing, and no beer?!?!?

*cries for the poor horsie*

What heartless artist would inflict such pain on their own creation? One thats essentially a part of themselves?! Who I ask you, who?!

*remembers the whole bunny thing*

...

I'll shut up now. :P

parody

I'm jusat pointing something out. I dont believe that parody should be just for the sake of satorizing something! A parody is the best complement given to something. It shows that it has been taken so seriously for so long that some one got sick of it and decieded to make fun of it. Now Im not saying not to parody things all I am saying is choose wisely.

But also, as I often say, if something is good enough, you won't have what to subject to parody in it.

Well, the basic image is that of a sad, beautiful, probably underage girl with enormous eyes in a melencholy snowscape. It happens now and again in anime and manga, Megatokyo's just got a reputation for it. It's not really exclusive to them.

IUm just sayin'

Post by Squarewheel »

All I'm saying is that all again and again in history sence the invention of the parody it has been reserved for things that do what they do because they wer truly great in one sence or another (like artistic geniouse i.e. Mona Lisa or just really bad ass i.e. Voltron). But recently in history people have just made a parody of anything they damn well please. i was just saying if you dont read Megatokyo and cant parody that choose wisely on what you do parody b/c historically it is a great honor..... reading over this I just noticed I sound really liberal.....

Actually, all a parody requires is that the source of the parody is well known. Greatness or value isn't a concern if noone knows what its about.

Liberal at what?

I have no understanding of this MegaTokyo affair, so I shan't spend much time in this thread. Evidently, these people are well versed. Most patrons of this forum are all in on the same joke, so they may as well share it amongst themselves. It is of no consequence. Better this than a continued fixation upon that whole Titanic nonsense, yes?

Who cares what the *true* meaning of parody is/should be

But for convenience's sake, lets call this MAKING FUN OF MEGATOKYO AND THEIR EXCESSIVE USE OF SAD GIRLS IN THE SNOW BY STEALING THEIR IDEA AND ACTUALLY MAKING IT AMUSING instead, so there is no confusion or argument.

MixedMyth I demand you edit your post so that nobody has a hissy fit. That's an unreasonable demand you say? NO UR UNREASONABLE. Why? COZ I SED SO. And of course, everyone knows that personal opinions are always right.
