She's always calling my bluff.

Laugh everytime I hear it. Cool song, though.

Flaming Lips might be the best band out there right now, if it's not OutKast. When I'm into some gleeful drunken anger I put in Alkaline Trio, and when I'm into depressing bleak moroseness, Radiohead. PJ Harvey is a goddess; I feel most alive when I'm listening to her. And Ted Leo's voice and conviction can make the most insipid Creed song sound credible, but he'd rather kill himself first.

Moxy Fruvous: folksy geek-pop from Canada.
Is that like Arrogant Worms? (who are hilarious, btw)

Can't really say for certain. The best way I've discovered of describing Moxy Fruvous is either:

(1) a cross between Barenaked Ladies and They Might Be Giants

or

(2) kinda like Corky and the Juice Pigs.

Oh, I found Moloko and Ramones in some corner too. Gotta add them to list.

My secret shame is, I like Wheatus's "Teenage dirtbag".

Words cannot express my disappointment when I learned the singer was male. Especially with the end of the song being the way it was.

Hey, good to see Cake is making everybody's list. Cake is the most non-offensive band ever...not lyrically, but musically. I would find it very hard to find any reason not to like them.

Plus, I like They Might Be Giants. Rock.

Cake's great. I probably should have put their distant relation, Soul Coughing, on the list, too. Gotta love me some deep slacker jazz, oh yeah.

Bleh, I've only listened to classic rock on the radio for a good couple of years now, and I hardly listen to that anymore. I don't remember who said it, but I agree with them when they said everyone nowadays sound the same, for the most part. Though I have been meaning to look into that album by "Jet", that one song they have out that's real popular sounds nice.

I, whether or not music was better or not, like pop/rock from the 60's and 70's (and some 80's and 90's) more than I do modern music. I just find it more... amiable, I guess. There's only so many distorted guitars, screamy, crybaby vocals, and equaly crybaby lyrics I can handle. :| Give me rich arrangements, beautiful melodies and harmonies over that other stuff anyday.

The majority of my collection are 60's and 70's music (Beatles [and solo Beatles], Fleetwood Mac, Beach Boys, Electric Light Orchestra, Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Alan Parsons Project) and some 90's music (No Doubt, Oasis, the Verve)

I haven't gotten too much into 80's music (unless by a band that started in an earlier decade) because I've been watching a lot of VH1 Classics on digital cable, and have come to the realization that the 80's owes us an appology. :|

Ah, yes, Cake. I got one CD from him too, unfortunately not the one with "He's going to distance" which rocks my world.

Otherwise I listen to him cause he reminds me of Beck. Well, the sound, the arangement, the use of instruments, particulary rhythm section, it just somunds similar. 'course, Beck is much more crazy.

I don't like Linkin Park because too many of their songs use identical riffs or sound too much like each other.

I think the few purely-insturmental music they've done has been vastly better than all their other material with lyrics (some of their insturmental-only music actually sounds pretty cutting-edge, in fact), and I think if they did an album that was ONLY insturmental like that, it might be much better than what they usually do. But it would be much less popular.
