Oh. A flame war and I missed it.
To be honest, His stuff isn't THAT bad. It's not really good, but it's still better than what I produced about 4 years ago.
It certainly isn't as bad as stuff I've seen from pompous braggarts who conscendingly sent me emails expecting me to link them )"I have decided you comic is worthy of me linking it, but I expect you to link me back...".)
Whoops, wandering off topic...
Keenspace is all about giving people a chance. Granted, most people waste them, but that doesn't mean everyone does.
By the way, any of you feel like article writing for "How Not To Run A Webcomic?" ( http://hownottorunacomic.keenspace.com )
I'm still sifting through the comics I should and should not put up, but I'm planning to have other sections to the site soon, and one of them are article sections, covering topics such as "10 things you should know before you start a webcomic", "Why hiatus is the six-letter four-letter word" and stuff like that.
Anyway, lot of crappy comics to sift through, and poor Srdjan is still stranded offline, so off I go.

I'd be willing to help out a bit with that.
I'm clear, precise, and not too mean. Unless I have a bad draw-day. Then I'm vicious.
Even though my comic's not up, I consider myself an okay artist with good taste and a nice dash of encouragement and criticism.
And about this comic, just keep trying. My art was also really bad starting off, but it can only improve (or stay the same, but let's be optimistic). And if you're not funny, it might not work. Maybe try another genre? A horror, drama, action...?

Well . . .
As much as a little break from the steambath of

I mean, as long as you like fairly final endings.

I'm not lying to him or anything. His comic sucks so far, but I thought everyone had already said it, and what's the point of restating what he already knows?
Besides, I'm sure he also wanted to know how to get better, and the replies started to be less about that and more about the rules of good critiquing and what makes a good comic.

No arguement.
But let's do be honest, what serious thread here has ever stayed true to its purpose?

Heh.
I suppose, but can you really call something that whimsical "serious"?

OOOh. Is this something where you come up with your topic and just go off, or are there specific things you want covered?Phalanx wrote: By the way, any of you feel like article writing for "How Not To Run A Webcomic?" ( http://hownottorunacomic.keenspace.com )

Jaster, you're like, a super hero or something dude.
blackfang. Your characters, they look way too stiff. They need to loosen up, be more animated, you know? Nothing (for me) can be more irritating than having two characters talking to each other and looking like they're doing an impression of a plank of wood. Body language is a good way to get a point across, not to mention a punchline.

They're guest articles, so you can pick whatever topic like. Of course, the clearer it is the better. I'm even giving this one a free rein over language, but I will post warnings beforehand if it's a bit too scary for safety's sake.yeahduff wrote:OOOh. It's just a way of immortalising what we keep saying in the forums over and over and over.

Anyway, I've corrected fault #1: the image files are now in the 50-150 kB range.
Now for the hard part...
