Evening the odds...

Post by BBlalock »

If Quentyn can get some of those gragum to follow him that would even things up rather nicely. That cage will be awkward to carry to far, so hopefully he's still got a knife (or perhaps a knot un-knotting spell) to get her out of that cage without having to pause for too long.

Of course for all we know she's been gnawing (or spelling) the bindings in that cage whenever the gragum arn't looking.

With those Journey Boots, so fast to run on water, and even set themselves alight, I doubt even the Gragum's best swimmer would stand a chance of keeping up with him. Assuming he doesn't wing any trees (or zip right up them)

But even if he is uncatchable at full speed that might not prevent some from giving chase. And he should be able to keep up speed for a while. The swamp would keep the boots from catching fire again.

Depends on a couple of factors. The shaman doesn't look to be too... graceful with his lux manipulations (light emission on a simple levitation! pah! ;) ) but he may have a trick to try and stop Quent as he dashes off.

Also, the rest of the team's going to be in deep (or mucky) water with the rest of the Gragum.

I foresee... I foresee...

for some odd reason, I keep foreseeing Quentyn's face plastered against the cage as he rams into it and dashes off; the girl inside looking quizically at him. Strange.
Don't make me defenestrate you!

SUPERBOOTS!!

I thought they might come in handy. Nothing like a sudden increase in speed to catch the enemy off guard.

See, this is why I like Sonic so much. A couple steps and BOOM! he's off! By the time the bad guys have figured out what happened, it's already too late to stop him.

Now we just have to hope Quentyn's reflexes are up to snuff...
