matter anyway! There's special codes & stuff
that Keenspace puts into the structure of the
web pages on its site, and they play havoc
with checking programs like that. But you
gotta use most of those things here just for
your comic to work, so it doesn't make sense
to worry about web checking sites here.

UM: According to one of Kepler's Laws(second?), an orbiting body sweeps out equal areas in equal times... so when it slows down, to sweep the same area, it has to be in a farther orbit, yes?
Pluto has a year that's almost 300 Earth years long... whereas Mercury's is downright short...
So actually, wouldn't the orbit get FARTHER? Or rather, have to get farther to slow down?
(Which means that despite the increased day length, the fact that we're farther away means that the temperature actually drops - though not as quickly as it would rise if we slowed down and went IN.)
------------------

You saw right through my punchline, Gene!
Hmmm... If the earth's orbit and rotation slow at an equal rate, then until it actually stops, we'll still have 365 days per year, but each day will be longer. Does that mean Gene will be able to get his day's repair work done on time every day?
(Note: I am ignoring that bothersome aspect of reduced orbital speed in which the diameter of the orbit shrinks, correcting the duration but increasing the temperature...)

The earth is slowing down, every year the day gets longer, but it's less time than it takes to blink, however, when dinosaurs were alive, the day was probably 18 hours long, and don't worry Digo, if you get to the right place you'll have all the sunset you would ever need.

Wait... if the Earth is slowing down... will it eventually start turning the other direction?
