ASB reprint

Post by Hampster »

I thought that might get your attention,

[quote]
Hi, all...

I'm the writer/editor/check-monkey of Associated Student Bodies. Just a
quick clarification here, before the rumor mill gets spinning too out of
control.

Yes, the hardbound collection is in the works, Real Soon Now. We haven't
made an official announcement yet, simply because we don't have a definate
date yet. We don't like to make announcements until we are *sure*
(meaning, the masters are at the printer and the check's cleared)... we've
already been bitten (by a printer backing out... "You mean 'explicit'
'adult' and 'male-oriented' meant 'gay'?"). So until we make an Official
Announcement, with trumpets and ticker-tape and cheerleaders (we'll leave
the last to your sordid imaginations), ain't nothing promised.

But. That being said... "Associated Student Bodies: Yearbook" will be
about 320 pages, hardbound with a nice four-color dust jacket with new
art, have 16 pages of color plates (the covers of the comics), and contain
all 8 issues, "The Lion in Winter" and "The Boys of Summer". There will
also be a few pages of our incessant blathering, and an extra story which
hadn't made it into the comics due to space constraints.

Tentative cover price is $39.95.

Oooh! I've never read the comics myself, but I've seen a few pictures and heard good reviews. I love collected comics, so this would be great for me.

Hm... I already have all the comics. Is it really worth $39.95 for a new piece of artwork on the dust cover and one more short story?

... Hell, yes.

It's just that kind of reaction that keeps me from fearing The Albedo Factor.

Flashback to TT-2000,

hampster sits in on one of the furry panels, And they get to furry comics,

They do give Omaha it's props, which I later found; and dearly love.
(but be warned it is a total soap-opera. One of the reasons I love it but some furs... not to mention any names.)

If anyone has any issues of Omaha they're looking to sell... hint-hint.

And they also mention Albedo, which I found a few issues of after the new year. I've drawn some conclusions:

If it has a good looking fox, the comic is well written.

If that fox has nice legs, and shows them off, it's insightful.

And if she has nice tits, it's an engaging, dramatic read.

The Albedo Factor

-haven't you seen this go on throughout the fandom?

I'm not worried about this with ASB because:
- I know the furs telling me it's wonderful.
- I love the sample pages I've seen myself,
- along with everything else I've seen at http://www.arclight.net/asb/.
- And honestly I don't care if it turns out to be nothing but eyecandy,
I will love the story when I read it, but ::drool::

That's one of the main reasons I like ASB, that is so rare in my experience.

It's not just wonderfully-made story and characters.

It's not just eyecandy.

It's BOTH in one yummy furry adult-readers-only package.

Hi,

You know how we've been saying that the collected "Associated Student
Bodies" would be ready "real soon"? Make that "now".

The folks at Rabbit Valley ( http://store.rabbitvalley.com ) have just
been buried under four pallets of the "Associated Student Bodies
Yearbook". As soon as they can fight their way to the computer, it will
be
going up on their website, and be ready for immediate order. They will
also be at AnthroCon.

Oh yeah. Just what IS the Yearbook?

The "Associated Student Bodies Yearbook" is a hardback book, about 300
pages, containing all eight issues of ASB. It also has supplimentary
material that you might not have seen, such as the ASB stories "The Boys
of Summer" and "The Lion in Winter". The covers are included in
high-quality color, as well as a beautiful full-color dust jacket. Cover
price is $39.95.

Go out and buy one so the Rabbit Valley folks can have room in their
house again!
