Saaaay...did noone here notice a comment made on June 15th comic?
The word "clones"?
So Misha and Twap have broken into a secret facilty that produces clones of...well, other beings?
Not that seems interesting to me...
For one point because Twap's research is again strongly interesting me, does it has to do with cloneing too?
Maybe there's already a clone waking around in the Untitled cast. How about Xe, that would explain his lack of a past (and given what we hear the voice saying in the same sentence, it would also explain why he surpresses the memories).
If yes, there would have to be an "original" Xe somewhere too - well, and maybe some Xe-clones.
And the social question for the day:
What you think: when you clone someone, would the copy develop the same personality as the original? The same character traits, feelings, social behaviour?
My oppinion is parted, for once I believe that your personality has a certain direction, a base that you simply have since birth, but I think that base is also strongly altered/developed with the influence of your sourroundings and living situations.
There are surely these examples for identical twins that grew up in different places and nevertheless share spooky similarities, but I also know from enough that don't.
*shrugs and deposits 2 cent into the Untitled bank*

I want to be a clone...
Interesting thoughts, Toby... especially the idea that Xe might be a clone or something... we shall learn more as the story progresses, don't worry.

setting biological impossibilities aside for the moment...
We are faced with an army composed entirely of Twaps. Would this count as a one girl army?
Meep!

"To answer TDS, I'd expect clones to be just like identical twins - as a rule they will have similarities to the original, and the more similar their upbringing, the more similar they should be unless specific effort is made to alter their behavior. (In the case of identical twins raised in the same home, one or both twins sometimes make an effort to be different in order to establish individuality.) If the original loves to read but the clone is never taught how, this would create a noticeable difference in how the clone acts compared to the original. Now...the question is, how were these Twaps raised differently from the Twap we know and love?"
Aren't Butterflies great?
Alright...so...Twapa's got clones....just you wait...next thing that comes it:
SpOrKs.
Can't you just feel the suspense?? *evil grin*

Lactose Intolerant?
Does anyone else find it ironic that two boardmembers from the states most associated with dairy products are plotting to thwart the tyrannical aspirations of their respective states' cash cow?
So, Twapa's been cloned, her research stolen. Why clone her? It seems to me, that it would be for her intellect, and obviously then the horde of cloned Twapas were meant to take her data and hopefully continue the research in a direction and manner that will benefit their creators. Going back to what TDS and Kree wrote about the personality development of clones, will these clones be as capable as Twapa? Since they haven't been exposed to a similar set of stimuli, will their logical, moral, and ethical values allow them to make the same decisions and leaps of intuition?
And more importantly, why do they seem to be about the same age as Twapa? Has the cloning effort been going on for a long time, or is there some kind of accelerated growth here? And if there is accelerated growth, how do you pack in the same amount and degree of education? Of other exeriences and situations that have made Twapa who she is?
Already it seems obvious that these Twapa-clones are not very much like her. They're still pointing the gun at her, while she's very hesitant....of course, running into multiple copies of yourself might do that.

I have another idea besides growth acceleration, maybe Twap is also a clone, that got lost or escaped, or similar (Dark Angel anyone?). It could be that she was born or cloned the same time as the other Twaps, only that they grew up in this facility.
I'm haveing this idea because of Twaps high intelligence, it would make sense to me when someone messes with DNA somewhere to create that, what would mean that Twap is an artifical made kangooroo-rat.
But that's just one theory.
It could also be that this are growth-altered copies of her, I wonder then only when they got the samples from her DNA for cloneing. Maybe as she was in the hospital during dark storyline?
Or maybe they got for better technology then the scientists that cloned the sheep and so could work with a fur sample?
Either way, that situation definitly spells like this:
C-O-N-S-P-I-R-A-C-Y

Yahoo mail.
I'll tell you why you're all speculating:
Because you know that Gloria likes it. Why?
1. It makes her feel all special and important and loved
2. It gives her a mad power trip because she knows what's really going on and you guys don't.
3. It's entertaining, and it's better than agonizing over the stupid love triangle thing.
Have a schweet day!

Re: Yahoo mail.
I do it because I like thinking about these kind of things, and I like to see what other might assume differently then me, or if someone thinks the same as I do.Simply_da_Best wrote:Ah, why do we think so hard about this? I mean, Glor has already put up all the comix, why do we bother?

The exchange of thoughts and ideas, stimulating my fantasy, cause that's still one of the most powerful things a human has, isn't it?

And I also think it's honoring the artist of a comic when you let know that his/her work makes you think and keeps your mind busy.
Bu...But I like wondering about the not-so-stoopid love triangle?Gloria wrote:3. It's entertaining, and it's better than agonizing over the stupid love triangle thing.

Otter randomness
Kree grins at the artist and churrups, "Well, you are special, important, and loved, Gloria."
"However...I've gotta go with TDS on item #3."
"On a completely different note...Hey, savethehissingcockroaches - didja know we're practically next door neighbors? I live in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, which for everyone else's info is the back end of nowhere for the panhandle of Florida."

a question
this may seem weird, but its been bugging me.
Youre from florida right, do they speak with a southern accent too? like the people in ohio and virginia, maryland and the others.
accents are weird. We have two of them here, we talk "normal" here in the lower peninsula, and the U.P. where they all talk northern. or canadian
say yah to da U.P. aye or something like that anyway

"Say 'Yah' to da U.P., eh?" is the phrase you're looking for. I lived in Marquette for six years.one beautiful loser wrote: say yah to da U.P. aye or something like that anyway

The accent isn't quite Canadian; we didn't say "aboot".
'Yah' indeed.

Your ass is mine, Socrates!
Get back! Yield! Yield!
The Crash Pad-- It's Too Late For Helmets.
The big question is... Once you've had weasel sticks, can you ever go back?
