Wow! What a talent! I can see why it would have wanted to follow you home!
Tell ya what -- he still doesn't know what I look like. If the two of you are ever at a conference and someone points at the sky and yells "I've never seen a fish that
huge!", grab the sketch book while he's distracted, and meet me out back by the rubbish bins. I'll have some clever means of escape waiting.

(Keenspace needs to make their winkies look more mischevious)
Oh, to have abilities like that! If you tried stealing
my sketch book, all you'd find are a load of perfectly blank pages that you could fill in on you own, or maybe something that looks like
this. I'm afraid that's about the extent of my drawing abilities when I'm not actually looking at what I'm drawing -- a squiggle in the upper-right to subdue the left side of my brain, followed by clusters of almost-straight lines, for an avatar inspired by a stylized reindeer from a 1980's Christmastime newspaper advert.
Of course, my
real problem is all those blank pages in my sketch book! There's nothing on them! I had to get into the habit of travelling light some time ago, so practice materials quickly became an expendable burden.
I think the best practice I got drawing was during a two-month stay in an incredibly uninteresting part of Kazakhstan where I noting to do but sit around and maintain telephone communications to the outside world. My personal belongings had been sent ahead by cargo jet, so I didn't have to carry anything with me. Even then , I stuck pretty much to just learning how to use the various drawing tools by drawing the stuff right in front of me, and never got to the point where I could draw what was inside my head.
So that's me in a nutshell, and why I like to compensate for my lack of talent by recognizing the talent of others! And oh, by the way Gene, in case I have left
you out in my enthusiasm for Scotty's work, pass my regards on to Mr. Temple, and tell him he's doing a cracking job! Your's is obviously an epic story, much like my own, and gives my own creator hope that perhaps, maybe as a retirement project in the far off future if not sooner, that maybe
my story isn't too big to be told some day!
Oh my, look at the time! It's almost noon, and the sun is shining and the tourists have
got to be thick as flies down at the river! Maybe I should walk on down, have a look, take some photos, then settle down to some wiring system improvements on the '75 Land Rover and get in some gardening work before the rain returns!
Cheers!
