am i the only one that thinks something smells.. fishy around here?

*shakes her head*

its faint.. but its there, theres definetely some unterior motive behind Rollimans placement in furriston, and his offering of a job there to his son whom he didnt want to even acnoledge earlier.

i for one dont think that he's giving his son a chance to 'modernise' his company on the surface, i'm sure theres some ulterior motive behind it, some evil master plan

I guess only time (and Gene) will tell what it is =) i'm all curious *giggles*

Oh yeah... There is no *way* Avariss is doing this out of the goodness of his heart. I'm not 100% sure what he's up to however. The paranoid freak that lives inside of me (I have to let him out for air every once in a while) says that Avariss's planning on sending all the furry sympathisers to this new branch.

What happens after that is that he'll let the militant furs "take care" of the "human infestation" in Furriston after giving it a few nudges.

Nice foreshadowing, Gene.

(In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, when Avariss first started initiating the plan, Gene subtly arranged the angle of one of the panels as to include Mikey's photograph of Steven. I had a gut feeling that somehow Steven was going to be pulled in somehow.)

Now, Gene, you put that map in the panel just for me, right? Incidentally, where I live is underneath Steven's second speech bubble, just above the 49th parallel (which is also where the US/Canada border runs).

I'm not sure what Mikey's up to (I think he's mad at us for the 'Wipee with Mikee'), but this can't be good. Oog...

(Hey, Gene, what does Steven's shirt say? The top is 'We Live' but is there anything more to it?)

That's what I thought too, it makes sense. Somebody on Avariss' secret payroll's probably already helping with the anti-human propaganda we're seeing.

I just hope Steven knows his father well enough to either avoid it, or if he accepts the offer, to successfully sabotage Mikey's plans.

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

Well, let me say that Avariss' "warning" last Saturday didn't scare me one bit. If anything, it just made me more alert. So I thumb my nose to you, Mike, and I tell you

I think it's one of those "We Live Here Too" Shirts the humans in Furriston have been wearing since Bob's more recent broadcasts.

Alternate theory: Somehow, Mokonapuff managed to thwack Mikey a good one (or a few good ones) and the poor sop's lost his Evil lobe from the resulting brain damage.

Well, it was worth a shot.

I suppose that puts Bridgeway where Bellingham is in our world. (I don't know anything about Bellingham - just looked it up in the atlas. It's a British atlas, so there's not much detail.)

*chuckle* That's a storyteller's job!

Hee hee! If you want to think so, Elix, I
doubt I could convince you otherwise. ^_^

Borders in Furriston's world aren't exactly
where they are in ours, but the 49th parallel
is pretty much correct where it is in the
map. I've had quite a few folks (both on and
off my forum) asking a few questions lately
about locations of cities, and this looked
like a good time to establish the distance
between Furriston and Bridgeway.

I really hope I can do a good job of telling
the story so as to maintain all the aspects
that I've included (they are all there for a
reason!)

It's about there, a little closer to where
Mt. Baker is located.

Convince away. I could also try to get you a better map (one that doesn't have political-like features on it) if you want.

And I guessed that the actual borders in Furriston didn't parallel those of our world, but the 49th parallel is precisely the defining border for much of Canada/US, right until the water on the coast here (and then it goes all funky in the strait). I know where the 49th is, but by explaining that it's the same line as the border, I hoped others would know where it is, as well.

And, thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering where Bridgetown was. (I thought it was funny.. I was trying to read place names on the map.. "Port Alberni" is about the only one I could make out. )

Incidentally, can anyone see the steam leaking from Steven's ears in the bottom set of panels? Or am I just hallucinating?

You're hallucinating.
