With the help of Mr. Sledge Therapy, I'm gonna be building a new computer soon for the patented Mysterious Radio Project.
Any recommendations for reliable, inexpensive on-line Canadian computer parts sellers? Living in Sherbrooke, Quebec I don't have access to really good storefront retailers...

Hey, does anyone out there know of a half decent comic that features a penguin in it? It would also be nice if he liked to eat cookies, cause Lord knows, I love cookies.

Oh, right. How silly of me.
sorry guys, just had to make light of what looked like a blatant ad for Insight.com
ps: where's the journal Matt? your lack of updates has inspired me to ignore my earlier inspiration that came from your entertaining blogspot.

Actually, that was a tribute to the old call/response format of French-Canadian folk songs.
"QUI avait les choses pour ordinateurs?"
"INSIGHT a les choses pour ordinateurs!"
"Tara-lara-ay de boom de Celine!"
"Tara-lara-ay de boom de Roch Voisine!"
Um.
Anyway...I knew James worked for Insight, but to the best of my knowledge I thought they only sold parts and systems to U.S. clients and had no real knowledge of a Canadian branch.
But now I feel foolish, so everything's okay.
Tara-lara-ay de boom poutine.

Well, I met with Sledge tonight and we costed out a system. Then we went to Costco, and discovered that Daewoo is selling a damn good system complete with 17" monitor, graphics cards, etc. for $999. Even after buying an extra 256 of memory and an eventual upgrading of the processor to an Athlon (it's a Duron 1.1G right now), it`s still about as cheap as just putting the thing together ourselves.
Hooray for Korea! I compute on the back of sweatshop labour!
