Heya. Sorry for the off-topicness of the post but I could think of few better places to ask than here.

I've just added a couple new pages to my site - and one of them will concern online comics. Here (mostly empty at the moment): http://users.otenet.gr/~katsaris/comics.htm

If you look through the rest of my site, you'll see that I tend to put a quote of about three-four short lines/verses at the top-left corner of each page. But right now I can't think of any relevant (or relevant-seeming) quote that I like enough to put up there...

Any suggestions? I'll read what people have to say for about a week or so, and if there's any suggestion I especially like I'll use it. I'm afraid I can't reward you with anything more than a short sentence in my acknowledgements' page, but still I'll appreciate any suggestions.

(for that matter, quotes that would fit my future Harry Potter page are also welcome. Though I do have a couple ideas about that one, I've not reached any solid decision yet.)

What, no quotes yet? Well, here's a few of my suggestions.

"You think you have a choice. You think you have free will.

You do not. You are ours."

Or for something lighter, "Leave me out of your sick fantasies, you walking pimple."

Or, in my opinion, one of the funniest moments in Faans....

"I SAID I DIDN'T MEAN IT!"
I'll sing you one, O
Green grow the rushes, O
Where is your one O?
One is One, and all alone,
And ever more it shall be so.

"I believe in my, in my friends, in my dreams and ideals, and in that which binds them all together" - Rikk

"So, he's .. he's vulnerable to cliches?" - Shanna

"I've never seen anyone dance to '2001' before." - Guth

"'San aquired skill. Makes chix inta wild monkeys." - Tim(who else?)

"(Rikk,) I want to be you." -Will

"Okay. You can start by flunking Russian." -Rikk

"I am not crazy! I am a reporter! I found my best friend after eight years seperation by pure luck! I have spent the last six months fighting zombies and Fransiscans and aliens! I am the target of a government conspiracy, and you're part of it, whether you know it or...

... help me." -Shanna

Anyway, these are the ones I've turned up.

"No problem! We'll just find someone behaving strangely!" - Shanna, at CosmoCon

"Your agency has been taking a personal interest in me for some time. It's very flattering. I feel like Bob Woodward. And one thing about it: It never tries to break an enemy's kneecaps when it can break her head. So you guys have set up this charming little cell, just like Mother used to have, and you're supposed to say, 'Everything you know is wrong' until I go, 'Sob! What is reality?' You know what? Let's just skip to the end. 'Oh, you're right, doctor. It was allllllllll a dreeeeeeeeeam...' Can I go now?" - Shanna

"'Don't you touch him?' I'm kinda thick about this stuff, but who could miss a sign like that?" - Rikk

That's all I can think of offhand.

[edit: I'm too anal to let those typoes live.]

Are you looking for Fans! quotes specifically or just quotations about online comics in general?

By the way, took a look through your site. Very cool;) I especially liked the Gargoyles page, it is always nice to find another person obsessed with that show. Where does your quotation for that page came from, though?

Something that'd fit or remind one of Online Comics (or even comics in general) would be fine. Certainly doesn't need to have come from Fans!.

 Thanks! The Gargoyles section is the largest section in all my site, I think...

I give attributions for all the quotes (I think) in my acknowledgements' page... The quotation there came from the poem 'Acquainted with the Night' by Robert Frost. The imagery of the clock tower, the thing about the night... it fits, don't you think?

Ah, Robert Frost and Gargoyles on the same page. Truly wonderful. And you're right, the quotation is very appropriate.

Hmmmm. Well, as for quotations on comics, I have to think about it a bit before I can come up with any (there is no way I'm going to compete with these guys on Fans! quotes), but here is one off the top of my head, probably my faborite comics quote. It's from the final Calvin and Hobbes strip:

"It's a magical world, Hobbes, ol' buddy...let's go exploring."
"Humans need fantasy to be human, to be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape."--Death, courtesy of Terry Pratchett

Hey, again! Sorry for bumping up this topic again, but I just wanted to hear opinions before I reached my final decision (final for now atleast  ).

I've decided to use either this one:
"Like dreaming in pictures
That resemble cartoons
Everything is flat
And we're by the frame"

or this one:
"In my mind I see a mirage on the wall,
But unfortunately it's not there at all.
So I guess I'll draw my mirage on the wall,
Then it can be here to see and enjoyed by all."

Both come from songs. I'm leaning towards the latter choice myself, but I'd be glad to hear commentary...

"I didn't expect her to counter my plan with nudity!" -Riff, Sluggy Freelance

"Clever disguise, Mr. Chan. But can you defeat my horde fo robo-ninjas?" - Tycho, Penny-Arcade

"All of the fleshlings know that I am a love ma-chine!" - Dill-87, Diesel-Sweeties

"Loo|< 0|_|T d00d. T|-|i5 <|-|IX0R co|_|uld R0X3R J00R box3rz 4T |/|E LL4|/|4Z G4|/|3." - Sp1d3y, Megatokyo

Now that I look back on it, it's odd how this post shades from human to robotic.
