Finally a topic I can really relate to.
I have so many to choose from...
1. Pantera
2. Slipknot
3. Tool
4. Deftones
5. Megadeth
with nine inch nails as a close runner up
honorable mention goes to Soulfly, pre-ReLoad Metallica, and Tomahawk.
For classical, my favorites are Stravinski and Beethoven; for country I'd go with David Allen Coe, hands down.

I feel out of place here, but...
1) Weird Al Yankovic (Does he count as a band?)
2) The Monkeys (C'mon, you know you love them!)
3) Korn (Best music to get testosterone going
)
4) Gunz and Roses (I listened to nothing but for like 2 years)
5) Monty Python (They didn't make many songs, but the ones they made were gut busters
)
P.S. If you've never heard of The Monkeys, you should go listen to their stuff. Guaranteed to make you wanna move

Ok, I know I'm weird, we're talking rock bands.
1. Black Sabbath (original lineup)
2. Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble
3. Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention
4. Alice in Chains
5. Counting Crows
But I'm also prone to listening to old blues (Robert Johnson to B.B. King), Jazz (Coltrane, Miles, Pat Metheny) and even orchestral music (baroque through 20th century, it's not all "classical music"
).

Don't worry, Foddercat, I think we're both out of the loop here. Let's go get some lunch or something while everyone else argues over which dark, depressing band is better than the other dark, depressing bands.
1. Matchbox 20
2. Mighty Mighty Bosstones
3. No Doubt
4. Dido
5. Weird Al (what can I say, I like to laugh)

The Cherry Poppin' Daddies?! %$#@!, I thought everyone had forgotten about them. I actually auditioned for that band years before they were pigeonholed as a 'swing revival' band. Way cool, PK.On 2002-02-22 09:16, psychotikitten wrote:

Don't usually go for these, but heck, lack of sleep will get me to participate in anything.
1) VNV Nation
2) KMFDM
3) Thrill Kill Kult
4) Boyd Rice
5) Bad Religion
These are subject to changing at a moment's notice, with some four hundred CDs on my shelves, ranging from ABBA to Wagner, GG Allin to the B-52's.
And DJ Pirtu, 4R's venture in English sucked balls compared to their older Finnish material. I believe Ismo's English version of the Sielun Veljet album L'Amurha was much better. And no, you are not the only Finn around here. *grin*
