Our friends over at Basement-Studios have turned us onto a great idea. They're auctioning off some original artwork on their forums and sending the proceeds to the American Red Cross. We're going to do the same and hope to combine the money we raise with theirs, if we get enough in time. We're going to be donating all of the profits we've made so far on merchandise, as well as some money from our own pockets to add to the pot. This is for a wonderful cause, folks. Please participate if you can.
The first package to be auctioned off is comprised of:
-the original artwork that made up the Cookies for Hands/Usagi & Mofo Go To Hell storyline, which began on June 15th, 2001. That's 20 pages of original artwork, along with accompanying notes. The original pencils have never been erased and all the mistakes I've made are clearly evident.
-two super-cool Warp 9 to Hell buttons (or pins, you might call them). You know, the kind you wear.
-a commissioned piece. That is, a brand-new piece of artwork, done on bristol board; the content is of the winner's choosing. I'll draw your favorite Warp 9 characters, if you'd like, or anything else of your choosing.
-a printed copy of the 9-11 memorial strip.
-and to make the package even sweeter, a CD filled with the original Cookies for Hands flash movies, every Warp 9 strip ever made, behind-the-scenes sketches, and other goodies.
Remember, this is a huge load of stuff and the money is going for a great cause. We'll start the auction at $25. Reply with your "bids" here in this thread, along with any questions you might have, or suggestions for auctions hereafter.
PS: For obvious reasons, seeing as this is an auction, please do not edit posts with bids in them. Add a new post with a new bid instead. It will be easier for us to keep track of bids this way.
------------------

Thats awesome Mofo and Usagi!. I did this sketch 4 days ago. http://www.quicksilver.com/091101.html
My company is thinking of putting this on shirts and working with the Red Cross to give themn out for free for donaters of blood and money. If you guys need my help somehow. Whether getting the word out or contributing to a list of artists. I can call upon my many artists friends and we can do art charity runs. To raise money. or sell your pieces!!
Artists do make this world go round. Im proud to have people like Mofo and Usagi in the Artist family. You guys fucking rock.

Mofo, I have to hand it to you- You're guys auction is off the hook! Help out guys! We've got 350 so far in the basement, and this auction is well worth that! You get AWESOME ART DRAWN BY MOFO, And you get to donate to the Red Cross (what could be greater?!) and if you guys reach 500 or if we can combine to donate 1000 I'll do a full on commissioned full color for the winner of THIS auction and the Basement Featuring The cast of both strips! This goes for both of our sites.
-Suede

Thank you so much. Only now I wonder what *your* purpose for bidding was. Heh. Grrr.
Anyway. I post my bid at $100 for now. This means a lot to me, not only to donate (while I can't volunteer at the moment), but the "prize" as well. Once again, thank you AH.

I collect art so I hunt for commissions... this is a great deal too. But since I don't have any specific attachments to these pages you are very welcome to them... in the end it's the cause not the art
AH

Yea, I know it is. And I feel awful. So... To you and anyone else. Bid how you will. I'm not done, but the point is the money raised. So. I'll not be selfish.

My absolute limit was $200. I just donated a small chunk of change to the NY Fire Department though, so I raise my bid... And stand at $150.
