I can't think of any reason why I can't divulge the price of that original piece. If I remember right, I sold it for $19.00 (that includes my four dollar shipping and handling charge) so 15 really...

And just to let everyone know:
I just posted my new piece in the Yiffy section... 14 days on that too, going for $30.00 as well. But remember, It's in the Yiff section for a reason... don't say I didn't warn you.
[This message has been edited by zillford-x (edited 05-13-2001).]

Sorry, don't have anything I could wish for as being drawn for me...besides the fact I don't have over 31$ to spare.

Nevertheless good luck with it.
Oh, and I noticed the pic titled "previously sold on furbid".
I've been wondering how much you got auctioning it?
And if this is confidential information, feel free to ignore the question.
[This message has been edited by TwoDifferentSox (edited 05-13-2001).]

I seen both your work (being major helps... Heehee...) and gosh you rock... O.O
I'd gladly comission, but since I am kinda short on cash (viva work to get some, school to drain you... -_- and rent... and bills... etc...), well, it'll have to wait... :
and I dun have credit card...
And am I reading correctly: 80lb paper?! o.O;; I never saw this even in the art store I go... o.O;;;
I need to improve... -_-;;
------------------

thanks FB,
about the credit card, If you notice, I also take checks...
but I understand that more than 30 bucks is alot for most furs.
80lb paper? thats what it says on the sketchbook cover! don't ask me, do I look like an artist to you?!?

and remember, all you have to do is win one of my contests to get a picture drawn(though probably not quite as high quality as a $30 commission, but you understand.
the current contest is still going, but I doubt anyone can get it. so look back later for a new one.
*current contest quote*--------------------
"What is it about the gates of Hell that compell people to wander into them?"
"It's Smuckers brand preserve!"
-------------------------------------------
*guess where that quote came from and win a piccy!*
[This message has been edited by zillford-x (edited 05-14-2001).]

well, acheron, I actually do have a 'store' of art if you look on my links page... but its not much of a store right now containing only 2 pictures.
Funny you should mention the VCL, I just signed up there and should be posting stuff soon.
I've also applied for Yerf.com, so maybe you'll see stuff there too.
the main reason you don't see my art is that I've been to busy/lazy to put it up.

P.S.
about the FurBid piece:
I'm just glad that people are interested in my art, even if they can't afford it.
:edit:
I'll probably do some cheaper ones too!
:edit:
see ya'll
[This message has been edited by zillford-x (edited 05-15-2001).]

That'd be great if you could do cheaper stuff. ^_^
Being a starving student (Heck, you know what it is... don't you?) and canadian (please, refer to previous posts that Acheron made before me...)you know it's hard to get out 50$ outta my pocket... -_-
And about checks... I don't use them. I prefer the postal thingie that you give the money (whatever the currency) to the post-office, and you send a little receip the other guy can cash in like money. It's safe, and it costs a bit more, but at least, you KNOW who got it (and you're sure not to have it bounce...). ^_^
And about that contest...
I could NEVER have guessed o.O;;; (Never saw MT3K, whatever it's called... LOL)

*hits own self*
And when you reply late, you forget stuff... >_<;;
Don't thank me. Heck, you REALLY deserve it, and this strip is FAR from what you can really do... o.O;;;
Call me stupid, but what method do you use? I tried teh shapes and still haven't got any good results. I start off with teh nose, and work my way to the image... Gives me pretty bad results (But considering I got back into drawing like, 2 months ago whenever I get some free time (which is next to never and non-existant...)...)
And yes, you DO look like an artist (AND A REALLY GOOD ONE AT THAT!!!) to me.
And I can recognize talent (Let's just say my bloodheritage helps... -_-;; Long story, I'll tell maybe one day...)
Want a good laugh (and sample of my stuff?)? Here's a 10 minutes sketch I made of my char. Not painted or anything, but it's just an idea... http://members.dencity.com/growlithe_00 ... tch.jpg

*blink*
Ten minutes.
Don't malign yourself. If you can produce something recognisable in ten minutes, that's more than enough cause for ME to be envious.
The little bit I saw looked decent, but dencity crapped out on me and isn't showing me ANYTHING now, so I can't really comment in detail.
Wait, there we go.. hmm.
Well, in comparison, this(warning, large file) took me around two hours.
Note the date. I haven't drawn anything since then. It was rather discouraging...
------------------

Large files don't scare me. ^_^
I love DSL...
You know, your hands are WAY better than mines... And the feets too. I believe the legs I made are way too short, and I totally missed the feet too, but go figure why, it's wha's causing like 2/3 of my drawings problems... -_-
I think you did quite well, y'know. JTK, what's that fur? I can tell the french name, but not the english, and I can't find it either in the French/English dictionnary (it's a crappy one... can't find the good one... I love moving...)... o.x;;

's an otter. Well, to be technical, an otter-ish anthropoid called an ae-tsar(in the story he's set in, there are a set number of distinct anthropomorphic races which bear little relation to the nonmorphic "equivalents").
Um. For all intents and purposes, an otter.
------------------

Whaaaaa, I'm in Canada...
That, and $30 US is already out of my price range. (Consider that it's almost $50 Canadian right there, and that's not counting shipping...)
Sigh.
Say, do you have a store of art aside from Random Access(and your character art as seen in the CM forum)?
If not, and you're looking for a place to put it, the VCL is probably the best place. Especially since most other servers are down at the moment. *growl*
------------------

Let me offer my encouragement as well. If you can produce that in ten minutes.... It takes me a lot longer to produce a recognisable full-body sketch and I cheat by inking blue pencil drawings.
The legs may be a little too short (not much though) and the feet too small, but practice will hone your skills. Since you're practising in your spare seconds, I'd hazard the guess that your speed will improve as well.
Acheron:
I think yours is pretty good too. An otter? I should have seen that. The tail is a giveaway.

I'd offer some of my own stuff for people to laugh at, but I haven't done anything except illustrations for my website recently (check out the Erath and CSR stories and background information if you're interested--see sig below).
Peace,

Ooooh, picture showing time!
Mr Firebreath, I think it would be indeed a good idea to train on body proportions.
I dunno if that is much help, cause I don't have the perfect recipt for it yet too,
but I found this tutorial lately, that might be helpful perhaps.
There are also other tutorials on this side, not furry ones, but for stuff like hands and feet.
I myself need too much longer to draw something, like with this one here, that I made to show a friend of mine that I'm really not that good in drawing what I want.
(Note: this was supposed to be a wolf at first.)
It took me an hour or so and my eraser was used a lot as you might notice.
I now sort of accepted that I will never be able to draw what I want to (or better: I'm surpressing it at the moment) and so I tried myself into coloring the art of the friend I already mentioned. I suppose her to be a lot better then me, and she liked what I did with one of her early pics. I hope she's okay with the fact that I post this here, cause I forgot the copyright sign on it...
oh, well, I'll do it this way: the pic is

Thanks for the link. ^_^
But the problem is, I tried to work with shapes, and I can't figure out how to use them properly it seems... x.x
Guess I'll try again...
I don't have much colored stuff in PS, the reason being *again* time. :
But I did start a strip (yes, me too... x.x) some time back, but I'm on a HUGE block right now, as I don't know how to make the next case to continue it... :
URL? Heck, laugh at me. http://pub51.ezboard.com/funderfurnetworkfrm5
BEWARE!!!
I started that BEFORE getting a scanner, so it's all mouse drawn... o.O;; In short: it's eeveel. ^_^
And it's FAR from being Zillford's quality, but it's still mine... And I'm a better write than cartooner, so... :
------------------

Erm... Thanks you guys...
*insert anime-style stupidysh smile here*
I did something else yesterday before going to bed...
Again, I warn you, I cannot draw furs from front... -_-;; http://members.dencity.com/growlithe_00 ... gun.jpg
I tried to make the legs a bit bigger, and well, I kinda missed the hand there... :
And Zillford...
I'm trying to work on a "fan pic" for Random Access... But like I said, my free time is somwhere between "nothing" and "non-existent", so it might take a while... -_^

------------------
