Okay, I understand the importance of this topic. But I do believe that we should wait a couple of days until we're sure about a number of things, most importantly who was involved. Let's remember we all thought foreigners were responsible for the Oklahoma city bombing when it first happened.
So level off for a bit and if you really need to shout something, my E-mail door is always open.
Well it's obvious the Suspect was probably a meter and a half tall, 2 eyes, 2 arms and 2 legs. hmmmmmmmmmm
I'm calmer now
And Quite Frankly i don't know if there is one or not, I just know that they we're human and so obviously they had something in their mind that justified flying a damn plane into a building killing all those people. So go preach your belifes elsewhere.

Why are you putting God in here?
Do you really think that somebody believing in God would kill himself and thousands just for a political issue?
Do you also think that somebody believing in God would torture and repress an entire nation just because they don't think like him? Or because they believe THEY're the chosen people. NOT!
We who believe in God don't cause such misery and sorrow to other people. God knows how I dislike the existence of weapons and armies.
[This message has been edited by Luchito (edited 09-11-2001).]

OK. There are some things that we can be shure about. SOMEBODY did this. SOMEBODY had a reason to do this. (I belive that nobody does anything without a reason. It may be nogood, ilogical, not undertandable for us, small, and even unknown to the person, but still a reason.)
Has anybody noticed how big thing this is made. Shurely it is a horrible thing, but 24 hours a day form everywhere... I'm beginning to have enough of this. I mean, it's starting to come out of my ears!

Well most people, are believing that the ones who did this were of an Arabic clan seeking revenge, for some reason..., agenst the US. And so i've heard thier religion is quite different from ours, them believing that to die for your country means you will get into heaven, even if it means killing others in the process. I just wanted to add my comment. Yes I am new to this board, only to posting though, i have been reading for awhile.
I give my best wishes to all who may have lost friends or family in this event, lets hope this despute does not continue any farther.
-Dana
[This message has been edited by JuJuBean (edited 09-11-2001).]

I think religion has done more good than it has evil. It has in my life in particular, and I believe it has plenty of place in the real world. You'll recall recently President Bush chose to quote a Psalm as part of his address to the nation about yesterday's events, "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me." And it has helped in its own way to bring the country together. Churches around the nation were packed with those looking for comfort. Religion has always been an important part of the strength of the United States of America, indeed the US may not of ever existed with out the need to gain religious freedom.
Religion is absolutely 100% necessary in today's world, whether your faith is Christian, Muslim (of which yesterday's events represent a bottom 1% of that faith, most are honest good people) Catholic or even Athiest or any other belief you can think of.
Racist facisim will always exist. I think religion has every place in the modern world. Rather I believe fanatacism has no place in the real world, ever.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. David, I want to compliment you on some incredible writing, and great artistry. I dont need to even get into how Tets story moved me. *sniffle*
I want to take a moment to defend Yawgs post. He didnt mention any specific god, although I'd guess that he was leaning to towards allah and the muslim faith. As that is the religion of the presumed terrorist regime who has done this.
As a former police officer and military man, I feel almost the same as everyone, that we need a swift act of retalliation against the perpetrators of this offense. And need to take a pro active stance towards all terrorists in the world versus our seemingly re-active one. Yet this is no reason to lump any person or group with these terrible people, just because they share the same religion/ethnic background/skin color/ etc... We must be tolerant and patient and fight out exactly who did this, and then sell tickets to their execution. I know I say this for nothing, as already morons from my very state have shot into mosques in ignorant attacks.. (yes texas if your wondering) I only hope that those who are the angriest can keep a level head for now, and let the investigators do their job.
Yawg, I dont blame you for venting.. I too feel the need. Just dont let that anger control your actions. Others.. we cant condemn a man who is honest enough to come to people he considers his peers and vents his emotions, some guidance and patience, and perhaps a little sympathy might be whats required right now if we are to get through this. Flame if you will...
------------------

I'm not good at writing out my thoughts, so this will be my only post on this subject. I won't judge any angry feelings that my countrymen have regarding the terrorist attacks, but what really makes me furious is the reactions of the palestineans on the west bank. Partying and giving out candy? such a disrespect for a massive loss of life, despite being lost by your enemy, is extremely...
Jesus. I can't even form words.
Check out Ernie's House of WhoopAss. He just goes all out on bin Laden. Shocking, but kinda makes you feel patriotic.

To tell you the truth, I don't even know if my beliefs can be considered as religion since I believe in nothing but mother nature itself! Nature is the only thing who governs me...it teels me when I have to eat, to drink, to sleep, to...huh...(better not tell)...It's balance is PERFECT, although very fragile. But I don't mean to despise other's religions...I just despise this fanaticism that brings nothing but chaos and sorrow to this planet!

More critic to the media about it's reacton to this. This is a true story and it happned to me:
I was listning to radio, there was some sport news on. I don't remember the subject, but it had someting to do with Ferrari. Anyway, a couple of times when they mentioned the name Ferrari, I thought I heard a word "terrori". I think I have had a overdoce of terrorist news.

Though I myself am not a religious person, or a courageous person, or even a very note worthily person, I feel I need to take some sort of stance on the events that have passed in the last few days.
First I say that some of you are angry, and this is justified. Someone out there has stabbed into the heart of something we all have an attachment to. This is our home, something long thought to be safe and well safeguarded. We as people feel violated and helpless. So it is a natural reaction to cry to our government for retribution on behalf of those who have family and friends who have been hurt or killed in this act. However, I ask, no, I beg that you redirect your energy to where it is more needed. This is a time when we as a people need to pull together. Rather then watch the news, spend time with your loved ones- the news wont go away, and you

There are two [main] groups vieing for power over in the middle east. The Islams, and the Arabs. the US tends to favor the Islams, so we stand up for them a lot more. So the arabs are pissed at us.
Arabs believe that dying for your god is the highest possible honor. and they believe that if you kill a christian in your entire lifespan, all your sin is erased and you go straight to heaven. wow, a two-for-one deal. that's why there have been so many suicide bobmings over there lately, and that's why these assholes hijacked a plane and used it to kill thousands of people.
These guys must be heroes to the Arabs.
also, remember that arabs have a different religion. they don't believe in the peacefull loving god that roman caholics do, god to them is a vengeful, broading war dude.
just more proof that religion has absolutely no place in the real world anymore.
------------------
